Staff made it really a hospitable place to stay. The location is excellent and very convinient to walk around anywhere in downtown Vancouver including to the local beach side.

They sauna was out of order, it would have been great to have had access to this at the end of each day.

Beautiful property. Excellent staff. Great location.
Lovely hotel, ideally placed. Staff very friendly, although they could advise you on check in that you need your room key to activate the levels in the lift. Was also surprised at the $600 security deposit on check in and thought it was very excessive.

This hotel is listed as a 5-star, but I couldn't disagree more. I am not sure who is doing staff training, but it needs to be re-evaluated because there is so much room for improvement. For a 5-star hotel, the staff were generally unhelpful, not proactive and had a "no mentality" i.e. would default to saying "no" without offering any alternatives or suggestions, and leaving it on the guest to come up with a solution. It started my stay on a bad note, and all throughout, this was a consistent theme. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but in good faith, I could not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a true 5-star experience. I would recommend the other nearby luxury properties instead, such as Fairmont Pacific Rim and Hyatt Downtown Alberni, which have provided consistent 5-star service and care. To the Sutton Place Vancouver HR: a 5-star hotel is not only based on how nice the property is, but on the service quality and care that guests receive, and that really falls short here.
Fab hotel located centrally to all tourist spots and restaurants.
Hotel room was great and spacious and exceptionally clean along with all the common areas.

Would recommend this hotel if coming to Vancouver.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We loved the l'Occitane bath products and the water pressure in the shower was great. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The downtown location was really great. We were able to walk just about everywhere, including Chinatown, Gastown and Yaletown. Lots of dining options within walking distance, too. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
There's really nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
The hotel was centrally located in downtown Vancouver and we found it to be of a very high standard, having everything that we needed.
The bed was very soft, much softer than we are used to and was noisy to move around in, we think because of a plastic mattress protector.
