We were diverted to an inferior hotel without explanation or consideration.
Cons:

They wouldn’t accommodate our reservation. We were shifted to the attached Comfort Inn without explanation. Our room type was changed to a single bed for 3 adults. We were not the only people this happened to as the group before us and at least 2 others after us had the same thing happen. We were told we would get a discount of $35 but that was just the difference in pricing and we had to pay the Comfort Inn for the stay and had to work to get our refund from Holiday Inn Express. Nothing really offered for the inconvenience or lack of service.

Pros:

Like how close it was to the university

Cons:

We came in right after the the tornado hit Bloomington. Our hotel key did not work the lady gave us different room. She was very nice. TV did not work but we were tired and that was ok.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Pros:

The rooms were clean. The location was just what we were looking for.

Cons:

I would have liked to know in advance that I needed to pay extra per night for a continental breakfast. I would have liked to know that there is no place to eat at this hotel. They advertise a restaurant and bar which has not been open for a long time. I couldn’t use cash to pay for anything in the hotel. I needed to charge my room. The air conditioning was spotty at best. The staff working the front desk seemed bothered when we asked questions.

I wouldn’t recommend nor stay there again.
Pros:

The location is great. The hotel smells musty, the carpet is stained, the wall paper is peeling….it just feels dirty but it seems clean. The staff is very friendly and made up for the hotel. It just needs a good update

It was cool to stay in Bloomington.
Pros:

The breakfast was nice. The rooms were real nice.

Cons:

Did not have an indoor pool. There was no restaurant for lunch and dinner. Wish you had one.

disappointing overall
Pros:

The location to my destination.

Cons:

The room was ice cold and would not warm up. I had to go to the front desk (phone in room would work and phone number was not correct). Thankfully they changed us to a room with heat.
I paid booking.com for a hot breakfast, but I was informed that it was not available. I asked at the front desk about the continental breakfast hours and they gave me the wrong hours, so we missed that too.

Pros:

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

I didn't like that my booking didn't match what I received. Many of my group had to sleep on the floor and the hotel did not have extra blankets.

Dirty old and smells
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Dirty, carpet stains everywhere. Rusty bathroom fixtures, peeling old wallpaper. Broken sidewalks, entire property smelled musty and gross. All for $200 a night. I'm embarrassed for you, Holiday Inn.
