I arrived at the Holoday Inn and they did not have my reservation. After calling the manager they move my reservation to Comfort Inn. I did not make a reservation at Comfort Inn, very disappointed with how they handle.
The room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were very soft and comfortable.
the shower was awkward. It was covered with a surround which raised it up so high the shower head was almost even with my head. I felt like Buddy from the movie Elf!! Also, it caused the bottom of the shower curtain to gather at the bottom of the tub and since the drain was on the side of the tub instead of the end, the gathered shower curtain kept clogging the drain and I was standing in a basin of water. Also, there were very few selections at breakfast. Peach yogurt, several breads and very thin white sausage gravy with no sausage to put on biscuits. I did not see any eggs or waffle station like the banners outside the breakfast area implied. There was no attendant to re-stock the milk for the cereal either. I was in the breakfast area around 8am and was told the night before that breakfast went until 9am. We ended up having to go somewhere else after check-out which was inconvenient and disappointing.
The staff was friendly and accommodating
They double booked my room and I was unable to stay there after a long flight and I was already charged for the room so the night was a shit show and I called customer service all night and they never rectified the situation. The absolute worst experience ever.
It was close to the location I was visiting
I felt it didn’t live up to the Holiday inn. I was used to no brochures showing any activity in the area. Nothing to tell you what the Hotel had to offer. Nothing to say what check-in checkout time was where anything was located and the desk staff was not rude, but she acted like she could care less if I talk to her or not.
Staff were extremely helpful and kind, they made my partner and I feel very welcome during our stay. Although this wasn’t specified during the online booking process, there is a $50 holding fee which can only be on card.
Good location
Door broke, phone broke, restroom smelled funky
They wouldn’t accommodate our reservation. We were shifted to the attached Comfort Inn without explanation. Our room type was changed to a single bed for 3 adults. We were not the only people this happened to as the group before us and at least 2 others after us had the same thing happen. We were told we would get a discount of $35 but that was just the difference in pricing and we had to pay the Comfort Inn for the stay and had to work to get our refund from Holiday Inn Express. Nothing really offered for the inconvenience or lack of service.
Like how close it was to the university
We came in right after the the tornado hit Bloomington. Our hotel key did not work the lady gave us different room. She was very nice. TV did not work but we were tired and that was ok.
