The hotel is dated but looks like it has undergone some modernization upgrades and it very well taken care of. It offers all the services of a typical hotel and there are no other large hotels located in such a convenient location in Yarmouth. The location is the biggest benefit because you can conveniently walk anywhere in downtown Yarmouth and are only a couple minutes drive from the larger shopping area on Starr's Rd.
Very close to firefighter museum, restaurants and ferry to Bar Harbor. Restaurant food was very good. All hotel employees were very friendly and accommodating. Did not make use of pool but it looks inviting. Room was comfortable enough. Window curtains could use an upgrade. :-)
This hotel is as close as possible to the Yarmouth/Bar Harbor ferry. It’s modern, clean and convenient. The bed was really comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet and the restaurant is open until 10, which is useful if you’re getting in on the late ferry.

We had a quiet room on the top floor with a great view of the harbor. Every single staff member we encountered during or stay was very friendly and helpful. Great location right smack in the center of downtown.
Only complaint is that wifi connection was mediocre at best. Also, bathroom ventilation did not work properly.

I was expecting the hotel to be dated however it smells old and needs updating/upgraded. No fans in bathrooms, wall paper coming off, furniture is rough shape.
Clean, comfortable, great service, good food, close to cat ferry. Have stayed here 6 times in the last 9 years and it’s always a great experience, they let you pull your motorcycle up under the entrance overhang so it’s easy in and out and protected! Highly recommended!

A supper in the restaurant was awful waitress cleaned off table with us sitting at booth sprayed us with cleaner waited 20 minutes for drinks another 20 to take our food order and 45 minutes to get our supper that came out half right, if a restaurant is that far behind tell people when they arrive so they can go elsewhere
When I tried to talk to front desk about service they said we just called in another shift by this time it’s 8 pm a bit too late to fix peoples dinners

Let’s start by saying I wanted to like this stay. The Rodd, kind of like their franchise, need to update to progress. Room prices have increased however the value for the dollar has not. First impression; I was given my room key and went to the room and opened the door only to see it was already occupied. The girl at the desk gave me the wrong room altogether and when I returned the key and explained my experience, apologies were made. With my embarrassment of walking into an already occupied room, I really feel better quality customer service could have been delivered versus an ‘I’m sorry’. It could have been much worse. In the morning I mentioned this to the new staff who is working the counter that checked me out. She was wonderful and comped our room service bill and apologized in a very genuine manner.Parking is horrible with 3 different areas including one being across the street. The room was outdated, the beds were not very comfortable and the springs could be heard creaking and popping with every movement. The television had pixel spots and bright spots and needed to be replaced. We ordered food from the bar downstairs and the staff delivering the food was great, however the food was cold. The air conditioning unit was ridiculously loud to the point where we turned it off in the night and would rather deal with the heat. At the end of the day the worst part of our stay was walking into someone else’s room and the lack of awareness to the desk clerk’s mistake and zero recompense for their mistake. Imagine the embarrassment of walking in on someone in their room for both parties. Do better Rodd Grand. The only real bright spot was the young lady on the counter in the morning who was so professional and fixed what she could in the moment.
TV was small, limited channels and no option to sign into Netflix (which having limited channels less significant)
The room is very spacious and clean. Water temperature and pressure very good. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Even the maintenance staff, greeted us warmly! How nice indeed. Location is close to restaurants and the beginning of the Heritage Walk.
