Big comfy beds and great location.
No vending machines
Check-in was great! The agent was warm and accommodating. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, wifi strong. Front desk staff was so hospitable, letting us into the gym after we checked out. Close to Yale campus that we were touring.
Not the hotel's fault, but we were confronted by several homeless everyday; some became aggressive when we didn't have money to give them. Be very wary of your surroundings in this area. Elevator from garage to lobby was broken, which made for an unpleasant trek up and down a confusing and smelly stairwell with heavy bags and every time we left and returned to the hotel.
Location is in downtown Yale. Very convenient.
We got a high floor with a view. It is lovely.
1. Check in can be better. We arrived at 12 noon on a tuesday - we dropped off luggage and asking front desk to call us when room was ready. No one call at all until we came back at 3pm. Truly, it was tuesday and hotel did not seem to be busy at all.
2. No bottle water in room when we reached our room.
Hope this can be improved.
I went there to visit Yale with my daughters and it was only 5 mins far from Yale University admissions office. Employees from the hotel was very kind. Breakfast (not included) at roof floor was amazing.
Hotel amenities could be better (I have to ask for shower cap and there were no tea bags in the room)
Perfect location for train station.
The loud traffic/noise at all hours of the night and how the police didn’t enforce the problem.
This was such a beautiful experience for my husband and I we stayed here at the Omni for a murder mystery dinner and the staff was great. The ambience was great. Very welcoming.
I loved everything about this property.
Hotel is solid. Comfortable clean room convenient to much of New Haven's activities
The reservation and check in process with Booking.com was bad. I needed to change the dates of my stay and the slowness of the interaction with booking.com put me inside the calcellation/ window and causing me to spend on a night I didn't use. Will never use Booking.com again
stairs from garage while elevator out.
Clean quite conveniently located
Noise from the streets at night
The hotel's location was good. You could easily tell the age of the hotel once you got there. It's an old hotel, however, but they have kept the room clean and tidy. During our stay, the parking garage lift was broken (for two weeks according to staff). A generous white man at the concierge offered to help move our bags from the garage to our room. He was the same person who helped us to move the bag to the garage on the day when we checked out.
We were shaken up by the loud knock on our door from the house keeping at 8:10am on Apr 8 (Room 1118). She knocked at every doors on our floor announcing "house keeping" and wanting to clean every single rooms. It lasted for about an hour with loud noises from her on every inch of the corridor until she made her way to slowly disappear and vanish from our floor.
