Good location, clean and updated rooms. Great harbor view.
The parking is in a parking garage. You have to pay $30 a day to park there. Should be free for hotel guests when the rooms are over $300 a night.
This is a great spot for family travel in terms of location and the size of the room. We stayed in a room with a king bed and separate seating area with a sofa bed. The room had a nice divider between the spaces, complete with curtains, so that we could stay up after putting the kids to bed. The hotel itself is somewhat dated and, while it has been recently renovated, there are still places where you can clearly see that they cut corners or tried to save money. The location is great - just across a (busy) street from the inner harbor area and easy walking distance to the major attractions. The front desk was hard to reach but, when I did reach them, everyone was polite.

Large rooms
My experience at the Royal Sonesta was very disappointing. The hotel had a noticeable stale odor from the moment we arrived, which immediately set a negative tone. I had specifically requested a sea view room to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary with my wife, but instead we were given a room that felt dark, enclosed, and far from what we expected. The carpet was visibly dirty, adding to the overall lack of cleanliness. Considering the amount we paid, the experience fell far short of expectations and was not worth the cost.
Room/Bed was comfy.
I did not like the fact that it said they had a spa and there was no spa !
