There was nothing NOT to like.
The proximity to everything in the area specifically the inner harbor
The fact that everything in the area closed down at 9PM, which is okay for a family with young kids but for adults looking for some kind of night life it's not a good fit

Check in was smooth and our room was extra large with a garden view.
Rooms are very dated, paint peeling, dirty carpets etc. Understaffed in the bar kitchen and dining rooms (apparently they did not think that anyone staying for the All Black South African game would return to the hotel after the game to eat and drink) 2 hour wait for food, plus a bar man that tried really hard but had no idea about serving people in order. So drinks were taking at least 20-40 minutes for some. Our room was not made up one of the 3 days we stayed. The Concierge just watched us struggle with our luggage whilst lifting the bags into the car. So for the huge cost of our stay it was underwhelming. The hotel itself could be amazing if updated and staffed correctly.
Good location, very clean, friendly staff
The coffee shop needs more staff, the pastries were not good and they had no knives. The restaurant in the hotel needs more staff, we waited ages for our food and then had to gulp it down to get to the station on time. Some guests walked out the restaurant without ordering as the wait was so long!

It was freezing- AC must have been set at 66! Hallways, lobby etc were uncomfortably cold.
Also, no free coffee in the lobby. $6 for a black coffee at the cafe! Seems stingy not to offer
