Fire alarm went off at 2:00 am with no communication from front desk i had to walk down 8 flights of stairs

Had a strange experience during my stay as a fire alarm went off as 2:00am and persisted for nearly an hour. While this is not the hotel’s fault, the entire situation was handled poorly, with staff not notifying guests of what happened. It’s jarring in this day and age to have an emergency alarm detonate and not immediately be alerted to what happened, having to venture down to the lobby in the middle of the night to see if evacuation was needed.
Emergency alarm went off for 30 minutes at 2:30 am and staff couldn’t give a reason what was happening.
No shampoo available in the whole hotel. No luggage racks. No microwaves. No clocks. Elevators were not working, We had to use the service elevator and the area was not clean. The staff was hard to understand because their English so bad. Buffett only had scrambled eggs no meat. The waffle batter was leaking. A disaster of a hotel.
Rooms are nice! Elevator was down. We had to use the maintenance elevator. Didn’t have small bathing towels to give out extra.
Stayed 2 nights and asked for towels after the first night and reply was we don’t have any!!
Non chalant about cleaning the room even after requesting for it. The room still wasn’t cleaned.
Cold showers, sketchy hallways, rude employees, ac not working properly in room, toilet running all day/night long, elevator not working (which apparently hasnt been working for quite some time)

Sadly elevator not working on arrival however was running soon, juice at breakfast definitely seemed watered down and coffee almost cold
Great hotel that you can’t beat for the price. At the time, the elevators were not functioning so I had to use the aux elevators but I got to my spacious room and slept like a king. Great place and will definitely stay here again.

The room I stayed in was clean and updated. However, the front elevator was not working so we had to take the stairs or use the staff elevator. The floor outside the elevator was sticky and dirty. I told staff about it and nothing was done during my 2 day stay. The front desk was not staffed at all times. I had to call while standing at the front desk to receive service. I understand they are remodeling and had signs of apology throughout but it seemed that staff was in short supply. I will not stay there again.

Breakfast had good options but some efficiencies need to be figured out. Short on plates, waiting on hot food, people confused on locations.

Elevator problems, breakfast marginal
I booked the room weeks in advanced for a trip to the cities, then showed after 8:30 pm when check in was 3 pm only to be told that we had to wait for a room. The front desk worker refused to tell us why we had to wait when we had a reservation set up and continually told us to wait 5 more minutes. After asking again about the reason for delay they admitted no room was ready due to overbooking. After another 10 minutes we were fed up and got ready to leave when they started saying a room was almost ready and to check in. But then the front desk worker insisted I needed to pay a $100 deposit after an extensive wait and being delayed/dismissed multiple times by the front desk saying it would only be 5 more minutes. The fact that I had to do a $100 deposit when my card was already on file after dealing with the awful customer service ruined the night and we took off not wanting to stay in a hotel that could not be ready for their guest after they book in advance. I was then denied a refund even though I did not spend the night and had terrible customer service. Would not recommend booking here.
