A very nice hotel with a vintage vibe conveniently located downtown.
Pros:

The location and the restaurant were the highlights of this Hotel. The staff was friendly, the underground parking garage was great to have downtown, and the pool/ fitness area was very nice and peaceful.

Cons:

We were not able to plug the tub to have a bath as the mechanism seemed to be broken, and there were garbage bags left at the end of the hall near our room overnight.

Better Look for Another Hotel

Cons:

They did not clean our room during our stay. The towels were not changed, and the garbage was not removed. After our first night, by 5:00 PM the next day nothing had been done, so I went to the front desk to ask if someone could clean the room. I was told that the housekeeping staff had already left for the day, and they only provided us with clean towels.

The following day, the room was still not cleaned. When I went to complain again and mentioned that the same thing had happened the previous day, someone came to “clean” the room, but it was done very poorly. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

In addition, the air conditioner was old and very noisy, and the beds were of very poor quality and quite uncomfortable.

The only positive aspect of our stay was that the front desk staff seemed friendly and helpful.

Atlantico Halifax stay
Pros:

Reasonable price. Good accommodation.

Cons:

Quite far from the downtown core. We like to walk and the wall down wasn't bad but the walk back up after a long day wasn't doable for a couple of 70 year olds. We had to Uber a lot. Could use a bit of updating in the rooms.

Shabby, not chic. Fine if you don’t care about stained furniture and wonky outlets.

The concierge staff were wonderful. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Power outlets didn’t work on nightstand. Cleaning staff didn’t clean bathroom floor. People staying had 3 doors open beside and across from each other and had an open party. I was told it would be handled and it was not. It happened both nights. Screaming in the hallway. Also, my door didn’t lock properly. The room was just shabby looking. Also, having the construction workers from across the street using the hotel for the next 4 years is an absolute mess.

Super expensive. Parking is extra and expensive.

The location was great. Right by the bluenose marathon.

Cons:

The price was crazy. Parking was almost 30 dollars extra and no food or breakfast included. Super expensive but nothing special.
