Very pleasant.
Pros:

The location on beach was nice. We had a room 3 years ago where the beds faced the ocean. The room we stayed in this year didn’t have the feature to look out to ocean while resting in bed. But for the most part the stay was pleasant.

Awful customer service. Managers didn't bother returning my call.
Pros:

I was charged although I canceled room before deadline. Managers never called me back, I tried to dispute it and Crown Plaza would not approve when Booking.com put in request. They just keep passing the problem to crown and viceversa.

Cons:

Getting charged. I've spent HOURS trying to resolve this issue.

The people was nice. The view was great.

Cons:

Free coffee in the room no water fire alarm went off five o'clock in the morning i was on a balcony. I closed the sliding glass door and it locked. I was stuck outside.

The excellent position

Cons:

I was not provided with a receipt for my stay. The receptionist said that since I paid in advance via Booking.com online, the hotel was not capable to generate a receipt. Absolutely impossible since it worked for every other hotel where I’ve been in the U.S. and the rest of the world. No means to reach out the hotel afterwards, either by myself or via Booking.com customer support. I still need that receipt to be refunded by my administration.

Beautiful beach stay!
Pros:

Close to the beach and main street. Close to several bike and running trails. They have a restaurant on site. It is close to all things Ventura! Very friendly staff. Super accommodating! Great experience overall!

Cons:

The noise level during our stay was a bit overwhelming due to a concert close by and being on the side of the freeway instead of the valet side of the building. If you book, ask for a room facing the valet parking side of the building---or poolside.

If you want an outdoor very loud concert - this is your hotel. If you want to hear waves and sea - run elsewhere.
Pros:

We paid a lot to be right on the beach. Unfortunately on 6/14 2-10:00 pm there is a VERY loud outdoor concert venue across the freeway. Wow! We hear everything!!! Hotel staff unconcerned. Ear plugs, noise cancelling headset could not block out the concert. Tried to change room to north side of building - no luck. NOT happy.
