Cons:

Right now there is some construction to the outside of the building and it is covered with scaffolding. However, I knew about this way before arrival. Not a huge issue.
On the first night, me and my guest were woken up at 1:40 AM by a fire alarm that quickly shut off- it was a mistake. No further instruction, no explanation even after check out. Bringing my overall score from a 9/10 to a 7/10.

We booked a suite room for ocean view. Spacious room. Bathroom is clean. Bed sheets are nice and soft. Plenty of towels, there’s two mini fridge in the room.
Staffs are helpful, they even have a luggage storage to keep you stuff while waiting for your room.
Nice ocean view at the restaurant.

Noisy Hotel! Cars and train noise all night long!
The hotel looks old from the outside, but the room we stayed in was much newer than expected, which was a good thing.

After booking, we received a message saying there was scaffolding around the window. I let it pass because we couldn’t cancel the booking anymore. I replied asking if our window would be blocked, since I specifically booked the room for the ocean view, but they never replied. Again, I let it go because canceling was no longer an option.

We did get an ocean and city view.

Check-in was at 4 PM. We went out to see the town and came back around 10 PM to rest — but oh dear! The train didn’t stop running until past midnight, and the street was extremely busy with cars all night. It finally got quiet around 2 AM, and that’s when we managed to fall asleep.

At 8:30 AM, we were woken up by loud banging, drilling, and construction noises from above us. Check-out time was 11 AM. I really wish they had warned us ahead of time — we would have taken our loss and stayed somewhere else.

When we were checking out, there was an angry couple in the lobby complaining about the noise, and honestly, I would have done the same if I had more energy.

The beach view is really nice, but if you look closely, there’s a lot of debris and trash around. The mountain view, however, is really beautiful.

Disappointing
Cons:

I was supposed to be facing the ocean but was next to a busy freeway and train. Couldn’t see the sun set with the champagne we brought. Couldn’t keep the glass door open because of the freeway noise.

Fantastic
Pros:

I go to Ventura quite often. It's such a quaint town. This was my first time staying at the Crown and I loved it! The pool was gorgeous right on the beach. The room was clean and comfy. There is also a restaurant/bar we enjoyed too with live music! All in all, a great stay. Would definitely stay again.

Cons:

There wasn't anything I didn't like.
