Very comfortable new and clean
Reception staff were unable to reconcile the differences in my name on booking.com and passport. I had to change name on booking.com in front of them to match passport
The Hyatt is a well located old standby. The rooms are clean and fairly standard, The property is being renovated, including the in house restaurant, Cure Bar. This means there is limited service with a temporary bar located downstairs. While it’s not the best set-up and hours are limited, a highlight of the evening was the bartender, Aster. Aster was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to our group. I travel frequently for business, and good service really makes a difference to what can be an exhausting grind. She is a great ambassador for the Hyatt and I hope the management knows she’s a real gem.
The rooms are missing desks and dressers. Very loud construction outside and thin walls inside so you hear the TV next door. Someone next to me ran the TV all night.
Stayed for 3 nights. Aster at the lobby was amazing and will be the reason we return.
I want to recognize Kaur from the front desk for the exceptional service she provided today. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported, not only as a guest, but as someone who travels frequently and understands how meaningful personalized care can be.
Kaur took the time to listen, anticipate needs, and tailor the experience in a thoughtful and professional way. Her attention to detail and genuine kindness stood out immediately. In years of traveling across many hotels, this level of individualized service is rare, and it made a lasting impression.
Hyatt is fortunate to have a team member like Kaur representing their brand. Her professionalism, warmth, and commitment to guest experience reflect the highest standards of hospitality. I am sincerely grateful for her help and want to thank both her and the Hyatt team for fostering a culture where guests feel truly valued.
The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was actually pretty nice and there were plenty of pillows to get comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and had all the necessities and room to lay out my items. The coffee maker was tucked away so it took me a minute to find it but it was a welcomed necessity.
The room was fairly clean with the only real issues being in the shower. I think they just missed cleaning it all up as there were still blue spots of what appeared to be someone else's bodywash. They were doing construction so it was a bit noisy in my room, luckily I was able to drown a bit of it out with a white noise machine.
Great stay. Fast check-in. Room was clean and spacious. Google casting was perfect to enjoy Netflix. Club Lounge offerings were varied and satisfying for breakfast and dinner. Hotel located in the heart of ritzy shopping and within walking distance of Tatte, National Portrait Gallery, Chinatown, and red-line Metro Station stop. A little further away is the National Mall but walkable.
I am attorney came here for business for 8 days. I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment. I came back from a day at work to find the door to my room wide open with all my personal belongings inside. I called reception they told me they would look into it and no follow up. The room cleaning was atrocious. Dirty floors and counters trash left in the bin! Didn’t get wake-up calls I asked for! I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment. Or felt so unsafe in a hotel. Management never followed up. Even after assuring me they were looking into it! I will never stay here again. Terrible hotel. If you are worried about safety stay somewhere else.
I visited the Grand Hyatt Washington DC in February 2026 for a very special occasion, and the experience was absolutely outstanding. The grand entrance immediately set the tone for what would be an exceptional stay, followed by superb customer service from the entire staff — especially Reyvelyn at check-in and Myei in the Club Lounge, who were both phenomenal.
The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. The location is truly unbeatable. Step right outside and you’re in shopping heaven with luxury stores like Salvatore Ferragamo, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Christian Louboutin, plus Macy's and H&M just a block or two away. Even iconic landmarks like the White House and the Lincoln Memorial are within walking distance.
This is by far one of the best hotel experiences and locations I’ve ever had. I cannot wait to return!
Redeemed points for a night away and upgraded to club access. Room was dirty - hair in toilet and wet towels left next to sink. Grabbed food, which was only available via buffet. Burned hand on handle. Food was unsatisfactory and basic for $35 per person. Given an extra glass of wine for compensation. However, I ended up getting charged for it and an automatic service charge that was not declared in advance.
Texted hotel staff to get switched rooms, no response until 2 AM. Went to front desk and got switched after dinner, but it had someone else’s cake and celebration treats inside. Had to call again to have them removed and to bring cups for brushing teeth.
Hoping that was the end of it, but when we went to the club lounge, the staff were overworked and the “hot food” was cold. Cranberry juice covered the refrigerated beverage bottles.
What was supposed to be a care-free night away was anything but. The front desk person who helped us check out gave me some points and waived the meal, but my memories of the Grand Hyatt will be forever engrained. Don’t waste your time.
The Grand Hyatt is in a great location and the hotel exceeded my expectations. I really loved the room I was in and the hotel staff I engaged with on 2/11/26 and 2/12/26 are a credit to the Hyatt company.
Very slow and very rude customer service. All of my interactions with the staff with the except for the very nice lady who checked me in have been incredibly rude and unhelpful. This evening I waited more than 45 minutes to get a replacement key because locked the key in the room. There were two people helping one person and after wards the attendant who was the manger named Breanna just walked away. I have never experienced such terrible treatment. The other staff is not much better very and can’t be bothered. This is the last time I stay at this hotel. For the price one would expect better hospitality!
The conference center was lovely, the food services were excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Beds are comfortable and not too firm. Perfect location for me. I didn't notice a lot of food options around, so I used room service.
