Great location, staff so so friendly, room lovely, spacious and warm, Dove products in the bathroom were a really nice touch! So easy to get to the city and great value for money, will definitely stay again
The location and most of the staff are excellent, the rooms are very good value.
The first night we were in room 102 which is directly above an extremely loud rock bar. It was a Monday night, and we had earplugs. The music went until 3am and was louder than music festivals we have worked at. We could literally feel the mattress reverberating. When we went at midnight to change rooms, the staff claimed there were no other rooms available. The first man said, okay there is only a premium room. We said, fine we'll pay the extra. We packed our things, and then he came back and said his supervisor said it was impossible. The supervisor was deeply unpleasant. He kept saying: 'there are no other rooms' and then 'you can't change because we need to sell the room' — meaning (assumedly) that although we had paid for three nights in advance, they wanted us to make a new booking and pay. What the man said made absolutely no sense. If they wanted us to pay for a room, then obviously rooms were free. Why would we pay for a room if we had already paid? It was clear the man knew he wasn't telling the truth and that he knew we knew that. He had a strange little smirk on his face. It was the strangest experience we have ever had at a hotel. Then, at 6:50 am, the bar downstairs began unloading and loading dozens of steel barrels, again directly below our bed. It went on for 40 minutes and we could feel every barrel being thrown around. When we went to complain again, and the lady on the desk immediately changed our room and apologised. There had been other rooms available the entire time. Bizarre, stressful and horrific experience with two men who should not be working in hospitality. We would like a refund for our first night.
