Cons:

When I arrived. The lady at the counter scoffed at me due to the fact I must of interrupted her phone game. Check in is at 3pm...I was there at 2:50pm. Not but 2 cars in parking lot, she said "Well l let me see if there is a room ready" Gave me a room with double beds, when I said I needed a king. Proceeded to tell me no rooms with kings were available? Didn't offer thier fabulous cookies you get when you arrive. Mind you I am a Hilton Honors member., charge for parking in an empty lot! Used to be one of my favorite. Won't be back!!

Pros:

I specifically chose this hotel because of the "free shuttle in a 10-mile range, including to Grand Casino Arena". After checking in to my room, I went to the front desk to arrange the shuttle to the Grand Casino Arena for the following day (Sunday). The person working the front desk was not very friendly and advised that they do not offer the shuttle on weekends. She made it seem like I should have known that the shuttle would not be offered on a weekend even though the website highlights the free shuttle. There is no indication on the website that the shuttle does not operate on weekends. It ended up costing me $33 to park downtown for my event. Anyway, there is no point in staying at this hotel if you are planning to do things in downtown St. Paul as it is more cost effective to stay right downtown. You might pay slightly more for the room and for the parking at the downtown hotel, but you can get a hotel that has breakfast included. So, essentially you can be right downtown and your cost would be about the same as staying further out at this hotel. Apparently the highlight of the hotel is the complimentary bottle of water. We were never even offered the "warm DoubleTree Cookie".

Tricked into paying more for less.
Pros:

Good sleep.

Cons:

Shower tub was clogged and had to be plunged. They told us they were short on cleaning staff and couldn't make up our room. We had to ask for towels and wash clothes. Suprised us with parking fees we didn't know about until we signed in the hotel.

Good location, polite staff. The room was nice. Bummed about the pool

Great location.

Cons:

We stayed here because there was a pool. The pool was closed, which we understand why, but wish we could have been compensated or had a discount form to e inconvenience. We are down here with our kids and they never stay at hotels. We were excited for the pool time with them. Definitely a disappointment.
