Throughly Recommend
Pros:

We have just spent Monday-Wednesday at The western and what a great experience, From check in with a lovely friendly receptionist, who was pleased to inform us we had a room upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Room 12 had a spectacular view of the whole bay , our room was small but perfectly formed, clean and well equipped, a beautiful tea/coffee station ,tv, and great shower , we had a drink in the bar late afternoon again the staff were friendly and efficient and very welcoming, we had booked for dinner in Cecil’s and what a absolute treat that was l had the soup then a burger my wife had the salmon which she is still raving about , the best she’s ever had !! Would definitely recommend you try it absolutely amazing and very reasonable . We had a great nights sleep with comfortable bed and very little noise . Breakfasts were equally as good obviously a very good chef on the team , we would like to thank all of the Weston team for a very enjoyable stay which we will be recommending to our family and friends, we will definitely be back to see you all again

Great stay, few tweaks to consider
Pros:

Lovely room, nice decor, cosy and warm and comfy bed. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great view from room. Nice location.

Cons:

Disappointing that no food offered on Sunday evening and cut off time for Sunday lunch is 3.00pm. This is difficult if arriving on a Sunday afternoon and we had to go into town in the rain. Perhaps at least consider extending Sunday lunch to 4.00 or 5.00pm.
Didn't do cocktails in bar so asked for an amaretto and had none.

Scarborough reinvented ! The Weston !
Pros:

In late March 2026, my wife and self were at Weston Hotel for 3 nights, on a special “Seaside Offer” which was outstanding value. It provided us with not only B&B, but also a significant contribution of £50 to enjoy evening dinner in the glorious Cecil’s restaurant within the hotel. In all aspects, from the get-go of booking, to reception, to the quality of the bedroom and its facilities, to the bar and leisure areas, to the evening dining and the wonderful breakfasts, the stay quality was 5* !

First, the hotel itself, following its complete renovation, is a joy. The interior design and decor are comforting and very fitting for such a traditional Scarborough South Cliff Esplande building. The views from the hotel across Scarborough’s South Bay to the old town and the castle on the headland are breathtaking. The South Cliff gardens have also been significantly renovated and are on the doorstep. For those not firm of foot, the Cliff Tram directly opposite to the Hotel can carry you safely down the cliff (and back-up again!) if you wish to attend a concert at the much vaunted Spa or simply enjoy an ice-cream cone in a deck-chair on the wonderful beach area, washed clean twice-a-day naturally by the tides.

Second, the housekeeping at the hotel is again 5*. Everything is clean as a new pin. It’s a delight.

Third, the staff attentiveness is marvellous also. The owner/manager Luke and his team are second to none in terms of keeping an eye on all the “goings-on” to ensure that the guests are being looked after. The waiting staff are pleasant and efficient and again very attentive without in any way being ingratiating. My wife, and her pal who we dined with at mealtimes, were so taken with “John” on breakfast duty, jokingly suggested abducting him to take him home with us!

Finally, as a long time Scarborough visitor, having witnessed its continuing fall from the majestic seaside resort of yesteryear, it is so hugely heartwarming to see that, while other hotels in the ‘Boro (The Grand, The St Nicholas, The Royal, The Palm Court, The Crown) have either disappeared or are shadows of their previous grandeur, there is one new “kid-on-the-block” and that’s “The Weston”!

Luke and his team believe in the future. They should be congratulated for their vision in terms of their investment, and we wish them the best of good fortune in the years to come. This was my second visit to the Weston and I’ll be coming again for a few days every Springtime for the foreseeable years to come
