Not the anniversary trip
Pros:

Love the jacuzzi tub and the proximity to the beach. Bed was comfortable

Cons:

Hidden fees upon arrival. They ignored our email request for check in. Staff was rude. Amenities not open or available and parking was awful and they charges ua a hidden parking fee which was ridiculous for the joke of a lot they use for parking. Only returned for sentimental reasons but after this time we eont return too expensive for the bad experiences

It was close to downtown

Cons:

At check in, I had a confirmed reservation for what was described as a “superior suite, 1 king bed with hot tub, ocean view, non smoking” room with an ocean view. They checked us into a room that was at the corner of the 5 freeway and the offramp, no view. I went straight back to show them my confirmed reservation and she said yeah, you can see the ocean if you look around the corner. Ummmm… No. They did get us an appropriately matched room within an hour… that being said… this… we had hardly any water pressure in the shower. The shower stunk like the drains needed cleaning. Our slider door to the balcony had to be forced to the latch to close. Housekeeping shook big clumps of air freshener powder throughout the hallways, BIG dumps. We walked around it and through it until they vacuumed it all up hours later. It was really strong and sloppy. A dog had pooped on the third floor this morning by the elevator. We left at 11am and the smears and crumbles were still there after being reported by us and other guests. Not enough parking either. We paid a tidy sum for a dump. We will not be back.

Comfortable 2-day stay at the Volare for a wedding
Pros:

We were attending a wedding, and the location was conveniently near the wedding venue, Welcome Soiree, pier and beach trail, as well as some nice breakfast eateries.

Cons:

The location was next to the freeway, which made sleeping difficult without earplugs. Having some continental breakfast offerings would have been nice too.
