It has not been a Holiday Inn for a year according to the front desk agent. The pool is closed, breakfast is a muffin and coffee, wifi is unusable. Why is it listed as a Holiday Inn? Are there no consequences for misrepresentation in this country anymore?
We were put up here by American after a delayed flight. The American agent thought we were getting the Holiday Inn O'Hare. The phone number provided got me to the front desk who indicated they were the Holiday Inn. A mini van running once an hour was their "shuttle" The van had a sign on the side window stating Holiday Inn. This motel is NOT a Holiday Inn and is 6 miles from the airport. It is now the Grand Royal Hotel. The place is run down and dirty. The A/C in our room was very loud and did not work well. There was no breakfast. I would not stay here again.
Based on room rate, quality of room was more than adequate. Check-in andcheck-out process very smooth and simple. Staff was very professional and friendly.
The airport shuttle was impossible to find as it was not labeled Grand Royal. I called the desk from the airport 9 times! No one answered. I took an Uber instead. The front desk person was frazzled. He gave me a room that was not yet cleaned. Housekeeping was nearby and very helpful. They told the front desk person to move me to a room they just cleaned. They let me in.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay for the night, the savings is not worth it. The whole place feels abandoned: the bar is shuttered, the pool is empty, the elevator barely works, the carpet is peeling off the floor, the rooms stink—everything is falling apart. American Airlines booked my wife and myself a room here, as our flight was delayed, and we waited over an hour before the hotel shuttle picked us up. Receptionist didn’t answer our phone calls either. Save yourself the trouble.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at stuff is very rude smoking Hotel is in a horrible spot about 10 miles away from the airport. The service is terrible. They keep telling you that the transfer is coming and after one and a half hour stay there the phone desk lady keep disconnecting the call on you when you’re calling them back for the transfer the morning transfer is also terrible. They don’t tell the night before that you have to sign up. It’s only seven people can fix It. The rooms are dated the hotel smells lots of smoking from the staff and it’s a terrible location. I would not recommend this to stay at all and also for the holiday change.
Front desk agent was rude unhelpful and cant believe she disconnects the phone on you. Horrible
This place is completely run down and very dirty. Closet doors were missing, the shower was filthy as were the walls in the bathroom. The staff at the front desk were very nice...that was about the only good thing.

The signage says Holiday Inn, Tv and internet was poor. Breakfast limited. Exercise room under renovation. Low cost offsets
Hotel has a new name and was under construction, beds were comfy bathroom seemed clean but there were literal toenails in the corner of the room :(
I tried to call hotel to get their airport shuttle five times. No one answered. Took a cab arrived at hotel the girl was talking nonstop on phone with a friend (on speaker phone). She didn’t even look at us and handed us key. Checked into room and one of the beds looked like there was a “frolic” and bathroom had not been cleaned. Got another room (girl just handed us key..,didn’t look at us again. Room was ok. Got up to go to advertised breakfast (a couple of quick stop danish….no coffee.). Went to checkout and guy just said throw key in basket. We proceeded to catch”airport shuttle”. Two families with about 8 bags were ahead of us. “Shuttle” showed up….it was a Toyota Sienna that after filling with bags could only take two passengers. We chose to take another $30 cab back to airport. Worst hotel experience ever!

They do have an airport shuttle which is a minivan. The shuttle driver was very kind and helpful. The front desk staff was kind. For the amount we paid the hotel could have been in better condition. The pool was empty so we couldn’t swim. The paint/wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The bathroom doors were warped, had bubbling paint and the corner of the door was bent upward. The overall upkeep of the hotel was in bad condition. Definitely not what you expect when you pay almost $400 for a stay. I wouldn’t stay here again for the price I paid. I would expect the conditions of this hotel from a cheap motel.
