Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang

位置在新城区 江边，楼下有个商场，餐饮很多，还有家早餐厅吃的种类丰富，特别推荐咸豆浆，北方没有的一定要尝试一下
酒店服务很好，地下停车场走的时候记得在前台报车号
旅行目的地: 1、江两岸看夜景 主要就是灯光秀，没有各软件上的无人机表演
2、动物园 3，西溪湿地 博物馆很好又凉快又长知识 4.西湖国宾馆 紫薇厅吃的西湖醋鱼 遥看雷峰塔 当然也进去登塔了 必须到此一游

Rooms are partly refurbished, those are fine, the rest just ok. If you don’t speak Chinese, then you have to look for Bruce! Hard worker guy that struggle the absence of a second language in the rest of the staff, everyone try always to be kind and available but: “sorry no English”! Food was Good.

There were many corners that are no open or permanently closed.

All self-service at the restaurant. No special service for club room guests. Lounge is not open until the noon.

Stayed here for a 2 day business trip and arrived late, after 10PM. I was disappointed by the strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room. My colleague, who also stayed in the hotel at the same time, on a different floor had the same issue. It was a non-smoking room, but the room still smelled like smoke. It was very disappointing.

That being said, the breakfast was varied and the staff were very friendly. I would try this one again, but would insist on a new room. As I arrive late, I was too tired to ask for a new room and just wanted to go to bed.

Good hotel, but communication is a major issue.

Positives:
* Great location to the south part of the west lake. Subway is next door.
* Super clean rooms and facility.
* Comfortable beds.
* Great Breakfast with good selection.
* Executive Club is great with amazing food and awesome views.

Negatives:
* Staff English is basic so any communication was super difficult.
* I was told that I was upgraded, but my room didn't seem to be any special vs. any other room. Also no welcome gift or acknowledge of status.
* My shower didn't work and explaining what was wrong was super difficult. Finally someone came and fix it, but took time instead of them just move me to a different room.

Net, a good hotel, clean and in a good location, but not a 5 start hotel service.

I was in this hotel in June 2023. Large Room, super shower. Club lounge was incredible. Boris was incredible. Very friendly and professional. Best service in town. Top food, top drinks. Best service. This was an outstanding stay in Hangzhou.........

The dedicated and incredibly friendly service is absolutely out of this world. I asked in advance for foam pillow and down duvet and it was ready when I arrive my room. Boris in the club lounge is so friendly and well trained, such a pleasure to be in this hotel.

Quite a nice experience, during the festival, they still have good and professional attitude to present, especially front desk Johnson, he is so helpful and gentle, thanks a lot, I would recommend to my friends

Perfect stay! Got upgraded to a River view suite in recognition of titanium status. Great lounge. Excellent breakfast. The concierge staff were great! Shoutout to Shawn Xie and Lan Ye for being so helpful. We celebrated my mom’s birthday and hotel prepared a cake! Wonderful surprise.

As this is Le Meridien hence I would be critical on the overall performance in my review. First of all, check in was efficient and was given my upgrade to a one bedroom suite even if it is for 1 night's stay. As I arrived around Happy Hours, went to the Executive Lounge for a light meal and was impressed that the spread looked sumptuous but unfortunately is too oriental for an international hotel. Quality of food is also below what I expected as it tend to have too much salt, nonetheless the service is excellent and attentive.

The room as I said is a suite which is spacious but the air conditioning is hard to manage, overall the room is to my liking. Next, I visited the swimming pool which is of decent size for lap swim with warm enough temperature, kudos also to the attentive service.

What failed in my view in this hotel are 2 aspects:
1. The internet is horrible and I got disconnected many times from my VPN, speed is also horribly slow. For a business traveller, being able to work is critical and in this aspect it failed.
2. Breakfast is a nightmare as it is relatively crowded and when you "checked" in for breakfast, no one will bring you to a table and you are very much on your own. What made it worse is that even before I finished my food, it was cleared away when I went to get some fruits and quickly someone is already at my table.

If the overall service improve, I will consider coming back.

Hangzhou is my birth place where I spent 12 years of happy childhood. After being away for over 40 years, I came back to Hangzhou in the middle of city-wide lockdown in Shanghai and now in Beijing. I chose riverside La Maridien, a beautiful hotel next to Qian Tang River. The executive suite on the 9th floor is one of the suites with best view. Conveniently located next to the bridge that connects the hotel to the “old city” of Hangzhou and nearby best tourist attractions of West Lake. Details can be found in everyday and everything. 张金敏 who has been my housekeeper for the week took good care of cleaning and refreshing the room and amenities. Wade, the breakfast restaurant manager, welcomes me every morning with a pot of special hometown chrysanthemum. A desert drink of 银耳红枣莲子汤 appears every night on the dinner table. Well, it is hard to not indulge oneself in such a hometown warm dreamy place. I decided to extend my stay here for another week.

There’s no hot bathing water in such freezing winter midnight (•́へ•́╬)
as a titanium member here for biz trip, no upgrade or greeting would be fine. But horrible bug in basic hardware cannot be accepted!

The hotel staff was really good, especially the staff Liu Manli, was helping really a lot, and cared a lot about any needs. Any help was provided very quickly.
The breakfast is provided in a beautiful restaurant and the choice is really good. Also the in-room dining was provided in a very professional way, and the food was tasty.
The hotel in general was a really good choice - in general nice style, good rooms and especially the hotel staff.

这家艾美比国内其他家感觉好多了。拖鞋也非常好用，特地还买了些回家。服务也还不错，房间也很大很整洁。

Just don't understand why this hotel is rated so high. I've stayed in this hotel no less than 5 times. To me, it is just an average hotel if you happen to find the location convenient. The service quality is one of the worst I've seen.
The location is good if your main destination is around Qianjiang Bridge Bingjiang district. It is about 10-15 mins walk to the nearest subway which can connect to all major places in Hangzhou.
The room is generally clean if you are not picky. But the so called river view can be very misleading. Because there is an apartment building standing just between the hotel and the river and it is quite near to the hotel. So there is no privacy at all if you keep your curtain open.
The worst part is the service quality. In my recent stay I met several (5-10) issues that even though not ruining my stay but should not have happened at any 5 star hotel. The director at the hotel called me right after I checked out. We made an appointment to have a talk on the next morning. But he didn't call me at all in the morning. And when we talked in the afternoon, I could not sense any sincere. My feeling is it is just his job to call me, but no improvement will really happen. Actually all employees in this hotel give me exactly same feeling. They simply don't care customer satisfaction. They just follow protocol and finish their jobs.
So save your expectation to some other places. This could be a nice choice if you happen to want a bed in this neighborhood. Otherwise, I don't see any reason staying there.
