Ok but service was always rushed and when I asked for a late checkout I was rudely told that 12 is the latest on a Sunday?
I had higher expectations with this being an IHG. Towels were really sad. Fridge did not work - neither of them bcs I called 3 times to get a working one. Toilet handle was barely hanging on. Shower did not drain during the shower (thankfully it would eventually drain in between ppl showering). Parking was more expensive than advertised. Directv signal was so weak we couldn’t watch tv.
Location is very convenient, close to all museums and monuments. Room is very clean, breakfast buffet is worth the price. Check in is quick and professional. This is our third stay and we will come again.
I had a truly average experience when staying here a few months back. The rooms were okay— the bed was comfortable, but the sheets had a few stains on it, the in-unit AC wasn’t going continuously and elicited an odd sound and odor (so much so that I actually doordashed a scented wall plug), but everything else was fine— the bathroom was clean, there was enough space for one person to store their belongings, a refrigerator, and housekeeping came every day. I was here in September when it was still quite hot outside, so I was a bit disappointed that the rooftop pool was already closed for the season. The adjoining Starbucks was definitely a plus. The true highlight of this hotel is the location, as you are within walking distance from the National Mall (especially the Air & Space Smithsonian), and very close to a Metro station as well. The price is a little steep considering the overall quality of the hotel, but the location is truly unbeatable. Not entirely sure I would stay here again but I’ve definitely had worse experiences.
Great place to stay and close to walk to many museums or catch Metro to go wherever!
Excellent location, close to the Metro station, and loved having the Starbucks connecting to the hotel. Just a minutes walk from McDonalds and a great pizza place. Convenient Taxi cabs always waiting out front. Plus excellent maid service and wonderful front desk staff. Will definitely stay here again.
Location is 5/5. Very safe. Clean. Solid value for the rooms. Highly recommend.
To be fair, I got a last minute discount rate when demand was low and not a lot going on. Usually this hotel is more expensive than what I paid, and I think the value I received is the main reason why I am putting 5 stars. Location is amazing, close to the metro and the national mall. Rooms are spacious and it was clean.
Picked this location based upon good location. I didn't realize there would be train tracks directly outside the window with trains running ALL NIGHT LONG. Got the breakfast package that said if was for either the buffet or an entree, based upon the menu listed on their website. They no longer do the breakfast entrees, only the buffet but menu still there. Rooms are in desperate need of updating - carpet with snags all over, couch was so horribly sunken couldn't use it, only 1/3 of the tv channels actually worked and the remote barely worked, outlets between the bed did not work at all. Staff was very delightful but that could not make up for all the bad we experienced.
I booked the Holiday Inn to attend a conference that was close by. The location is great. It's within walking distance to the White House, Monument, and many of the other National attractions.
Check in was quick and easy. The staff was very professional, kind, considerate, and attentive. They checked on me to make sure the room met my expectations and let me know if I needed anything, to contact the front.
It's suitable for business and it's family friendly. It was nice and quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean and I rested very comfortably.
I initially selected it for the price, but I would definitely stay here again, and I encourage anyone looking for a place to stay in DC to consider it.
I truly enjoyed my family’s stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, its walking distance to food spots and the staff was extremely nice and welcoming.
Location, Location, Location.
I stayed at this Holiday Inn for the 50th running of the Marine Corp Marathon. It is maybe a minute or two walk to the metro and an easy walk to nearly everything you'd want to visit in the DC area.
The hotel rooms themselves are a bit dated, but clean and in great shape. The place itself is huge with a small restaurant attached as well as some play stuff in the back of the lobby area (a video game or two). There is also plenty of room to sit down in the lobby (handy after the marathon) and a small pantry area to purchase drinks or anything you might have forgotten to pack.
Staff was friendly and while there was a small line when I checked in, it did not take long to queue nor did it take long check in.
I'd definitely consider another stay for any return visit to DC!
Seven of us traveled together, two teens and five adults. We shared 3 rooms which were nice and spacious. There is a nice lounge with games as well as a play area for the young at heart. We did not try the restaurants here, but we did avail ourselves of the table seating on the patio for our take-out meals.
The best part of our stay was our concierge. He recommended what to do, where to go, and how to get there. He helped us weigh options that would be best for our group.
Wonderful hotel in the middle of everything! We walked to many attractions, it’s one block from the Metro if you need to go a little out. Electric scooters, bikes available all over the city make touring very easy. Nice onsite lounge / restaurant. Inexpensive and great cafe (Two Sisters) a few doors down has breakfast and lunch options for $10 or less. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is $59 per night, ouch, but that is comparable to other DC hotels. Look at the parking package rate, we saved $20 overall.
We experienced a few issues during our stay that were addressed to our satisfaction. The beds were a bit hard for us so housekeeping remade them with foam toppers. The room floor had some dark stains and housekeeping also took care of it while we were away for the day. We also experienced fluctuating water temperatures for which we were given a discount on our stay.
The location of this hotel is close enough to walk to the wharf, around the corner from the metro and very close to the museums.
Daily buffet breakfast was just ok, would have liked a few a-la -carte options. Would have also liked Netflix as an option.
Starbucks is attached to the hotel.
The highlight of our stay was the hotel staff who were all extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. They make the place feel more “homey” than a typical hotel of this size, and, although the rooms could use a bit if a refresh, I’d certainly return with hopes that all the museums will be open for our next visit.
Christopher M Joseph, was outstanding. He gave exceptional service.
Very courteous and friendly. He made the experience very welcoming to this nice hotel!
I would highly recommend this hotel. It was within walking distance of the museums and monuments, restaurants, bars, and gift shop that we went to. It was clean and the staff was very helpful and nice. Jenelyn and Robert made the stay extra special by teaching about the Metro system that we had never used before. They were very helpful and patient explaining every detail. They celebrated our success when we got back and told them it was very easy to use the Metro system with their explanation. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Walkable to national mall and bible museum. Clean convenient, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet only. Food ok but better dining within a $15 to $20 taxi ride.
Room was dusty and water pressure was low. No microwave. Remote cover was broken, with batteries exposed which was dangerous for my toddler. Food in the hotel restaurant was very dry.
We were given the keys to someone else's hotel room upin check-in
