A humiliating, degrading, unsafe service. I booked a wheelchair accessible room for myself and my teenage daughter - a wheelchair user and severely disabled - and confirmed its availability at the time of booking and the day of arrival, only to find a temporary inaccessible lobby when we arrived. And no wheelchair accessible rooms available. Their solution was for us to exit and enter the premises via the basement, storage area and walking up/down the car park ramp which was being used by other guests.
It’s not good. Lobby is being renovated, not a huge issue. I was told at check-in it would noisy 8-5pm. I was out early so no issue. But the room was poor. Very shabby, needs renovation urgently. Headboard vinyl was cracked and peeling, very unpleasant. Bathroom was just old and shabby. Furniture was tired and worn. There was loud thumping sound from the lifts or water pipes, I couldn’t decide which. Apparently some higher floors have been refurbished, 3rd floor is awful. And all for £275 a night! Breakfast was ok and staff were nice.
I don’t even know where to begin—my stay at this hotel in London was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for in a way that’s so rare to find. It wasn’t just about comfort or luxury (which they absolutely delivered on), it was the warmth, the attention to detail, and the consistency in service that truly stood out to me.
Every single interaction I had with the staff left a lasting impression. They were kind, attentive, and always ready to help with the biggest smile. It felt so personal, like they truly cared about making my stay unforgettable—and they succeeded.
A very special thank you to Suchit, who went above and beyond in every possible way. Your kindness, professionalism, and effort did not go unnoticed, and it genuinely made such a difference in my experience. You set the tone for what hospitality should feel like.
To the entire team—thank you for creating such a beautiful and memorable experience for me. I left feeling so happy, so well taken care of, and already looking forward to my return.
I honestly cannot wait to be back. This place will always hold a special spot for me.
Not a single thing was bad.
Misleading Commitment and Unjustified Rejection of Early Checkout Refund
I had to check out one day earlier due to a family emergency. On the night before our actual checkout, we informed the hotel of the situation. The front desk advised us to contact Booking.com directly, as they were the source of the reservation.
We did so, and Booking.com emailed us confirming that they had attempted to contact the hotel but received no response. We shared this email with the receptionist at checkout. The hotel denied receiving any communication from Booking.com and stated that they would be “happy to process the refund as soon as they receive the notification from Booking.com,” asking us to follow up again—which we did the next day after returning home.
Surprisingly, the hotel then rejected the request.
If the hotel is not willing to refund:
A) Why claim they had not received any communication from Booking.com?
B) Why promise a refund at checkout, only to reject the request afterward?
there is a marriott hotel right across the marble arch in london. this isn't it. that shouldn't steer you away from this fine property. the room was perfectly clean and generously sized. i have stayed at much smaller rooms in central london. this was very comfortable. it's a bit old and some of the toilet fixtures were misaligned but not enough to make me complain.
one thing that makes a hotel worth returning to is the staff. the people here are wonderful. very corteous, friendly, and engaging.
the breakfast buffet wasn't the most diverse. there was no omelet bar. the choices were the same every morning. everything was of good quality and well prepared. the staff were very helpful. i must make special mention of the bread. it was excellent. not something i find in a lot of buffets.
so would i return? i am already figuring out when i book this hotel again.
We had booked the executive junior room which is on the top floor, we were told that the room was next to the lift and does experience some noise, not being ideal we simply asked if we could have some ear plugs, which we were provided and already in the room. We checked in and could find them, we contacted reception and they said they would bring them up, as we were going out for a meal. When we returned nonear plugs were waiting, we contacted reception and they brought up some cotton ear sticks which ae used for cleaning your ears. The TV didn't work, reception told us nothing could be done as the person who deals with this had finished work. The only reason I didn't give a 1 was the room was nice and clean, bathroom small but does come with a good size shower. Also if you do plan to drive in do not park in their car park, unless you have a micro car, I've never seen such a small narrow car park entrance in my life……..i had a BMW 3 series and it just squeezed in, anything bigger will get stuck I feel.
