All good
I boomed last minute for my HONEYMOON... i was Upgraded to a suite. That was AMAZING and unexpected. love, LOVE the service we received
The breakfast was meh.... i overheard the cook on duty talking about his culinary expierence...The eggs were overcooked, scrambled, and the cheese omelets...I i saw a long dark hair ... im blonde and I husband shaves his head....so it wasn't us... I personally think kitchen staff should wear their hair tied back if its longer than the bottom of their earlobe... or in a hair net or bandana ... gentleman staffing the breakfast was INCREDIBLY personable , engaging and just delightful...culinary skills and hygiene could use a wee bit of help....
We did not have breakfast, but we enjoyed the bar and had a Charcuterie board in the afternoon. It was a good start to our stay.
No negative comments.
Room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The views were good. The location was good and they offer transportation within the city because parking in Portland is difficult and expensive.
The parking at HI was $20 per night and there is no alternative around the hotel, so if you bring your car be aware that you have to pay it yes or yes. The breakfast was very slow.
The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. The view out the window looked out on the snow that was coming down and gave the whole experience a nice New England winter vibe.
Only one thing and it was addressed immediately. I was in the lobby early on Sunday morning and went to get on the middle elevator to go back to my room and saw that the hand sanitizer unit appeared to have what looked like a bloody handprint on it. I went to the desk right away to report and it was dealt with.
Loved the check-in process. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and provided great recommendations. The room was exactly as advertised and very comfortable.
It was unfair to charge us $20/night for parking when we are already guests of the hotel. Parking for guests should absolutely be complimentary.
The variety of Breakfast was not good
Water shortage for 5hours
