After This Stay, You’ll Need a Vacation from Your Vacation
If you enjoy a seamless check-in, functional technology, and having your explicit requests respected, do yourself a favor and steer clear of the Crowne Plaza Phoenix.
* The Check-In Chaos: The disaster started the moment I walked through the door. Check-in was an absolute ordeal, made exponentially worse by a hotel key card system that apparently dates back to the dial-up era.
* The Rooms: "Dated" is putting it generously. While technically functional, the accommodations feel tired and well past their prime.
The Ultimate Dealbreaker: The "10:40 AM Wake-Up Call"
The real nightmare, however, began on departure morning. I specifically requested—and was granted—a late checkout of 12:00 PM. I also had a "Do Not Disturb" sign prominently displayed on my door. Apparently, the hotel staff considers these little more than suggestions.
At 10:40 AM, the assault on my door began. Despite the DND sign, housekeeping started literally banging on the door. Not a polite rap—an aggressive, relentless pounding. When informed of the late checkout, did they stop? Absolutely not. Like clockwork, the aggressive banging repeated every single 10 minutes until midday. It felt less like a hospitality experience and more like a hostile eviction.
If you want to spend your morning being harassed by staff and dealing with broken tech, this is the place for you. Otherwise, book literally anywhere else in Phoenix.
Pros: The bed worked, I guess. Cons: Everything else. Terrible communication, outdated systems, and zero respect for guest privacy.
Final Verdict: 1/5 stars. Never again.
Location perfect for airport access. The staff member at reception was extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier, so that we could drop off our rental car on time. Very comfortable stay.
Nothing
Perfect Hotel for an overnight stay having arrived on a Long Haul flight
Suited our needs perfectly
Every thing was great as usual the desk clerks were pleasant and helpful the room was clean the air conditioner worked well good trip see you next week
The hotel location is across from the Phoenix Rail system.
The room was located on the 5th floor. The hallway carpet smelled badly of mildew. When I brought it to the attention of the shift manager, he had commented that the water damage had recently happened and they had not quite had the time to address it, but yet they were assigning rooms on that floor. When I asked about the availability of another room on a different floor, I was told that the hotel was sold out.
My room number was #521 and I stayed for one night on June 10, 2026.
My opinion is poor management and poor customer service. That full occupancy was priority over customer experience. .
The staff was amazing, very helpful and kind. James at the restaurant was very accommodating and enjoyable. He has a great personality!!!
The food at the little restaurant was very good and so convenient.
Great location for a late night flight arrival!
Pretty bland quality for being a Crowne Plaza.
Staff was friendly and helpful
Restaurant was mediocre. Out of many items on the menu.
Front desk explained in detail how to return our rental car to the airport and return via sky train. She took the time to make sure we understood where we were going and helped us calm down and feel confident. I really appreciate the time she took to explain the process!
Clean, staff was nice
Breakfast wasn't what I expected
We stay at this hotel prior to flying out of Sky Harbor. Parking rates are fair, hotel room is clean and comfortable. This is a great option with very short free shuttle service to the airport..
