Lovely hotel with great location.
Pros:

Brendon in the restaurant was exceptional. He was attentive, kind and very concerned that everything was to your liking. What a great experience!!

Location was good. Hotel was ok.
Pros:

Did not realize they were doing a major remodeling. Only 1 elevator worked. Restaurant & bar was not truly open & available. No extra blanket in the room.

I love Hilton but Doubletree in Holland is not a hotel that represents them well.
Pros:

I liked the fact that the room appeared clean. I liked the first lady I met to check us in. I liked the young man I encountered later that night. Every other staff member was standoff-ish.. not inviting or friendly or just plain rude.

Cons:

The staff. The additional cost for WATER. It should be boldly advertised that we will pay for those bottles of water if we take them. We didnt even drink them during the stay..we took them because we thought they were free.
However, the worst part was literally the staff. Out of about 6 staff members we encountered..only.2 were polite and gave a warm inviting feeling.

Bar and pool on property were nice

Cons:

The room was not clean. Beds were made and bathroom slightly wiped down but random hairs and substances were still in the sink and shower, the coffee maker in the room had not been cleaned in some time,all sheets had some sort of stain on them and there were still left over wrappers and candy on the floor from previous guests. The pull out couch was in no way comfortable and when asked for a comforter to put on it to try and add padding was given some flat sheets. I am not usually a complainer especially for a pull out bed only being slept on for a night but just using my hand I could pick out each spring of the mattress, it was TERRIBLE and felt like it was about to fall apart.
The breakfast was also not included so we paid for 4 vouchers during reservation just to come down in the morning to the breakfast area completely closed. I get it, things happen, staffing is hard and things get missed, but for a 250 dollar stay we expected far more.

Cons:

We booked a King room, but the beds aren’t actually king size. Front desk staff said they are European King (which is closer to a US Queen). Why are they using European sizes? Very misleading
