This is the second time I’ve stayed at this property with my kids. It’s the perfect location for us to go do all the fun stuff we wanna do in the area. I love taking advantage of the on-site restaurant. Pool area is also great.
We booked a King room, but the beds aren’t actually king size. Front desk staff said they are European King (which is closer to a US Queen). Why are they using European sizes? Very misleading
We waited to be seated for breakfast & was ignored by the waitress, after waiting 10 minutes we left & got breakfast somewhere else.
The entrance/signage to hotel was not well lit & had bushes/weeds blocking view & you can't see entrance until your right there. Also when we were leaving to check out before 11am the housekeeping staff came in to clean without knocking
The pool and hot tub were excellent.
The computer systems were down and we weren’t allowed to check in for several hours. Once we were allowed to check in, we weren’t able to get a key and had to have someone escort us from the lobby to our room each time to let us in. We weren’t offered a discount. I asked for a discount and they said sorry you booked through a third-party and we can’t do anything about it.
Location and rooms fine.
Breakfast on-site was an absolute disaster. Food was good but service the worst we have experienced in a few years. Waited over a half hour to get coffee, another half hour to get order, requested water for all att table and had to ask two times, then brought out water one at a time.
We stayed for a long weekend to attend a family reunion. The front desk clerk refused to accept my military ID as identification for check-in. The room was dirty with several large pieces of wax on the floor that I picked up and threw away. The shower was stained. The walls are so thin we could hear the full conversation the couple had in the next room. There must be a better hotel in the area for $250 a night!
Swimming pool water was ice cold, loby was hot like sauna, no towel in the swimming pool area,no coffee left in the room without holder to stick in the coffee machine, coffee packages in the room varied as if the y r all left over and the same for the sugar and sweetner !!!
See above .
I did not like any thing except the bar
Nice hotel obviously being renovated
The bathroom in the room - a “Deluxe” Queen suite was so small you couldn’t sit on the toilet without brushing up against the counter and bath. It was weirdly small
Staff was friendly and gave choices of floor/room, cookies and was helpful. Pool was clean and nice. Room was comfortable and had all necessary amenities. Good location.
Some people in the pool area without bathing suits or using the facilities was unwanted. The gym was a little hard to find at first but was conveniently located near the pool. Didn’t give more towels after cleaning.
Very nice hotel
Little expensive, but not bad for the area
Comfortable room
Parking to far from entrance for handicap. No breakfast on Sunday. No complimentary hotel coffee other than that little pot in the room, which is terrible.
The hotel is conveniently located, only about seven minutes from downtown Holland’s shops and restaurants, and there is plenty of free parking. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
Our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Holland was disappointing.
The property shows a noticeable lack of maintenance. The sprinkler system was leaking in many places. The hallway carpet on the fourth floor was stained, and the carpet in our room (437) was in terrible condition with stains, glue, or paint. Throughout the hotel, much of the signage appeared to be temporary, giving the impression that the property has not been properly maintained.
The breakfast experience was uncomfortable. There was no silverware available unless you asked for it, and a single employee appeared to be responsible for serving the entire room. Everything seemed understaffed or in transition to a minimalist new owner.
The elevator also needs attention. Each time we traveled from the fourth floor down, the doors repeatedly opened and closed one to three times before the elevator finally moved.
Overall, the hotel gave the impression of a property that is struggling or perhaps in the middle of a transition. The minimal staffing at the front desk, in the restaurant, and among the housekeeping team made the entire experience feel neglected.
This DoubleTree by Hilton does not live up to the standards or reputation typically associated with the Hilton brand. I would not choose to stay here again and cannot recommend it in its current condition.
Staff was great!
Bathroom was covered in what looked like and hoping was mud. Primarily in the shower and on toilet seat.
This is certainly the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed at and as a long time diamond member there have been many. This hotel has been under renovation for years and has a long way to go. The building is older and very poor design. The rooms are small with very minimal furnishings. No seating or drawers in the rooms and the technology is old. It is a cavernous building perhaps designed as a convention hotel that didn’t quite work. There are 2 diagonal 4 story wings with an indoor atrium containing a swimming pool. That area is very loud and humid making the balconies useless. Not even a lawn chair on them. The hotel staff did not even recognize my diamond status and refused to give our family more than 2 bottles of water at check-in for family of 3 staying 3 nights. Might have overlooked this but the price to stay here was almost $400 per night which is very top of what I ever pay for Hilton stays. Nothing complimentary. No coffee in the lobby elevators are old and shaky. Breakfast room closed one day in prime season due to staffing shortages. I could go on and on. I am very easy to please and have patience with renovations but this is excessive and on going. It appears the franchise owner is in financial trouble which explains the price and lack of amenities. The parking lot is a mess. The kicker is they did not even send a link asking about my stay and requesting a review. The location is poor as well. Something must change here. As much as I hate to send a poor review, it is important that the public is aware of this unacceptable property
Nothing
They kick us out over a little tiny accident that my elder mom had did on the bed didn't even give us a different room when she didn't mean to and they said they would will never go back
