Residence Inn Fulton at Maple Lawn

We are local to this particular hotel property and stayed here for one night due to some utility issues at home. I had never stayed at a Residence Inn before, but given the opportunity to stay here again, I’d do so in a heartbeat. The whole experience allowed us to “test-drive” this property in case we have out-of-town family visiting us needing a place to stay.

This property is located adjacent to the Maple Lawn residential community, within a shopping center, in the town of Fulton, which is south of Columbia, Maryland. This property, with 103 sleeping rooms, is pretty new and it shows with its furniture in the lobby and sleeping rooms.

The lobby was well-lit and had many tables and seating options for guest to work or relax at. We arrived early for check in and found they had a fresh urn of coffee and hot water (for tea) available while we waited for our room to be available.

There are five EV charging stations in the parking lot behind the building (4 are clustered together with one by the building as a handicapped spot). The charging station uses EV Connect, which requires you to download its app before connecting your car to the charger. Be careful where you step as you use the charging station. The chargers are located on a grass median in the parking lot, which is also the designated area for pets of guest to relieve themselves. The median was littered with poops --- guests did not pick up after their dogs. It would be a welcome asset to this hotel if it supplied doggie poop bags by the back entrance that leads to this grassy spot.

Our room (suite) on the second floor was clean, spacious, and functional. We found nothing out of order nor disrepair---everything worked, no bulbs were burnt out, dresser drawers worked fine as well as the chair, outlets, curtains, etc. The bathroom had ample towels and towel racks, with a shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles attached to the shower wall. Even with these in the shower area, there was plenty of room to shower without hitting the glass nor any of the dispenser bottles. The shower is a modern step-in style, with a glass half-wall at the end where the shower head is, allowing maximum light into the shower area (vs. having a proportion of light blocked out due to the shower curtain).

We slept very soundly---the room was very quiet. The bed mattress was firm yet comfortable. Even though this hotel property was sold out while we were there, we never heard our neighbors next door nor across the hall. The walls must have been sound-proofed or simply thick because I never heard anything, only the HVAC system running, which was like white noise.

They offer a free hot breakfast here from 6:30 to 9:30 each day. When we went to get breakfast the next morning around 7:15, there were maybe only about 10? people there. So it was quite quiet, with plenty of places to sit and eat. Other guests were good about bussing their own tables so there were no lingering dirty plates or trash on tables present from earlier diners. There were plenty of food choices that were refreshed when quantities ran low: scramble eggs, sausages, sausage sandwiches, hot oatmeal with a variety of toppings, cold cereal options, bread, muffins, bagels, make-your-own waffles, cut fruit, fruit juices, urns of regular and decaf coffee.
It was not until we sat to eat that I realized that this property doesn’t pipe in muzak or other musical sounds in the lobby, which is a welcome respite from what many hotel properties do. It made for a hushed, almost serene experience that I appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, and the location is great!

Great Spot easy parking well thought out rooms, Studio King, super quiet and really nice staff. Great big desk area. Travelers will be very happy to stay here A+++ If I could give it 100 stars I would. Shopping dining restaurants close by. Squeaky clean. Thank you.

Great amenities, spacious room for a family, with ample closet space.

The hotel overall is beautiful. Very clean. The rooms are amazing. My girlfriend and I loved it. It was in walking distance to our date night dinner.

Overall was pretty good. We slept good and the place was clean. It was good to have the small kitchen to cook small things foe kids.

Parking right behind property, with some spaces to charge EVs.
The gym looked good for basic things. The pool is small but inside, still a nice touch.
Breakfast is ok, the same eggs everyday and cold, both scramble and hard boiled. Tea options all with caffeine. At least got oatmeal, cereal and bagels.
The doors are so hard to open and I got hurt by one. When they close they are pretty heavy and can hurt you.

The staff were extraordinary and helpful. Overall facilities are in great condition.

Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious with lots of good options. Would definitely recommend and book there again.
