Unsafe Environment and Management does not care
Pros:

This hotel was an unsafe environment. First there is major equipment and tools left out in the open areas and the pool area where children play. Second the elevator lurches and makes a huge clunking sound that feels like it is not working as intended. Third the rooms are not very well cleaned with water stains on the bathroom floor and water stains on the ceiling with paint peeling. This place is not kept up with weird smells trying to overpower mildew and vapes.

On top of that the air conditioning vent was dripping all night onto the sink, the countertop, into our toiletries/medicines and created a huge puddle all over the bathroom floor in the middle of the night. Now we know why there were water stains on the floor and why the ac unit was shut off before we got there. This was a huge safety concern and caused one of our household to slip in the water. I also then found bugs heading straight from the bedroom into the bathroom water pile.

When I tried to bring this up at the front desk there was no manager on duty. The front desk wanted me to wait around for 90 minutes until the manager got there. I left my details and information to be contacted when the manager came in and proceeded to write a detailed email with photos because I was not going to wait around with my family and young children. The manager did not call so I called later that day, well after the 90 minutes. They said the manager was running late and he would be there in twenty minutes. I waited another two hours and called again. Now the manager wasn't coming in at all and there was no one to issue a refund for two more days. When I spoke to the manager two days later he had not gotten any of my messages nor seen my email. I filled him in and he said he'd have to talk to the general manager in order to issue a refund and would call me back in the next thirty minutes. He didn't call. He did send an email around 9pm offering to refund half of my stay at this point which is unacceptable. This was neglagent and a safety concern. I will never stay at a Wingate by Wyndham every again. Honestly I may never stay at a Wyndham again and we have used the time shares many times in the past.

This was unacceptable and the lack of communication with the guests from management when there is a serious concern is appalling. There is no excuse and this entire hotel needs to be evaluated from someone else is in the company before there is a lawsuit.

There were many more issues such as bathrooms not having toilet paper, no swim towels out, breakfast food being out and the staff unable to keep up with the number of guests, breakfast staff touching the spoons with barehands, dropping on the counter where food had spilled and then placing the spoons back on the plate for guests to use, and more. Not only will I not recommend staying here but I will be actively warning people against it.

Breakfast was listed until 9… however there wasn’t enough food and at 8:30 it was all gone. Even the juice was empty. Saw many ppl not get to eat. The breakfast was one of the reasons we chose that hotel.

Good pool crap room
Pros:

The pool me kids loved it. The location of this is convenient for worlds of fun.

Cons:

There was plaster falling off the wall in our room. I didnt notice until it was late but the ac made a rattling noise.

Cons:

The hotel had an overwhelming fake smell that got in your nose and wouldn't leave. The pool area felt dirty and the water was much too cold to even swim in. The room had been painted with two different colors on the same wall and the wiring was coming off the wall as well. We needed to air out the stale smelling roo. But couldn't crack a window, and although we ran the loud air conditioning all night the room never got any cooler or felt like the stale air moved at all. The top cover on the bed was stained and I didn't shower as I feared taking my shoes off anywhere in the room. We left a book in the room and when I called the next day to ask about it I was on hold for 36 mins before I finally hung up without ever having spoken to a real person. on our way back through KC we stopped at the hotel to check on the book (a day after we checked out) and they claimed it was never found in the room... probably because housekeeping didn't even touch the room after we left.
