It was a non-smoking room that had that old musty cigarette smell to it. It either was a smoking room at one time or it was because it was above their outdoor smoking area that blew in through the window.
I give this hotel a 5 because they were extremely gracious and professional. For a freeway motel, it deserves a 5.
There are some negatives. One of the issues were the thin walls. Our first room was an adjoining room, and I swear I could hear every word the people were saying. I didn't hear them in the evening, so that was a good thing. I'd say the other negative is the parking. The place is PACKED with cars, and many of the cars were parked over the line.
Breakfast is great! The lady making the made-to-order egg dishes was the hero of the breakfast. I heard many people tell her how good her eggs and burritos were. There were biscuits, gravy, yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, waffles, bananas, and lots of other items. Definitely a great bonus. The dining area gets super crowded, but it wasn't a problem for us.
I had an issue with an overwhelming smell of perfume in our room, even my husband (who doesn't have a good sniffer) couldn't tolerate the smell. The management let us change the room for the second night, I was very impressed with how they took care of the situation. A big shout out to the cleaning staff, they work hard to keep things neat and tidy. Tip them!
Amazing cooked to order breakfast, quiet location, feels safe. They gave a welcome gift to my puppy. Pet fee needs to be lower, perhaps $25 rather than $40. Our doggies are easier on the hotel than people’s kids are.
