Wonderful stay after a long trip, great price and location
Pros:

I love that the gentleman helped me figure out how to sign up for the Hilton app when I was having some issues. Dinner at the restaurant was also great my first time eating solo! Thank you

Did Not Meet Expectations
Pros:

Various member of our extended family stay here at least once a year for our family reunion in June every year. In addition, I stay hear from time to time when visiting friends. Price seemed high this year until a month before our event (actual event held elsewhere, we just stay at this hotel). So there were 7 of us at the Doubletree while others were scattered in nearby hotels, including Tru, just across the road a few blocks.

We come back here because of the services offered by the hotel: pool, fitness room, restaurant, bar as well as the well-cared for rooms. Unfortunately, this year’s stay was met with disappointments.

PRO’s: though check-in time is advertised at 4pm (previously 3pm), our rooms were ready when we arrived around 2pm. Cookies were offered. Guest staff was pleasant and welcoming. Rooms were clean and well-appointed. Air conditioning worked well. Wifi was acceptable. Lighting was good. Rooms were made up the second day of our stay.

CON’s: no coffee available until 7am; the lobby Starbucks was not open before that and unlike the lower cost hotels, there was no brewed coffee available gratis in the lobby area. The only option other than making it in your room was going to the Moka or Starbucks down the street. In addition , the previous breakfast menu (always delicious) is now only a buffet (though with an omelet station). We went elsewhere for breakfast. Parking when we arrived back at the hotel after 9pm was difficult to find, we had to make a circuit of the hotel several times to find a parking space. Only 2 of the 3 elevators were working so several times there were long lines to wait for an elevator. Previously the elevators were secured so you had to use your room key to access your floor; that is no longer working; since the elevators are not within sight of the front desk, that is a security concern. There were several baseball teams at the hotel the same weekend with children running around unsupervised. Two of our rooms (5th and 6th floors) had issues with hot water—none at all at the sink and only for a very short time in the shower—both in the morning and at night.

Overall, our concensus was that after a number of years staying at this hotel, it’s time to find a different hotel in the East Towne area. We’re disappointed.

Pet Friendly and CLEAN!
Pros:

This was an amazing experience from an unexpected surprise on my trip home from vacation. My car hit a pothole and I pulled off as quickly as I could to this gem of a hotel. Kameron at the front desk assured me my GSD and I could stay comfortably for the night, giving us both cookies and immediately booking a quiet and relaxing room on the second floor.

I loved the door knocker for my pet and no one looked at us like “nuisances” as he and I went up and down the elevator to go outside. I also learned he liked his lookout perch from the window in the room. There were pet friendly walk areas we were able to take advantage of and the room stayed nice and cool to keep my country boy dog calm and sleepy until our car was fixed.

Dinner at Tailwinds was fast, delicious and friendly. Craft cocktails and beverages.

Thanks for the amazing stay! 10/10 would come back.

Good sized quality rooms with welcoming staff
Pros:

Excellent bar and food area and staff. Outstanding breakfast food, staff and overall setup. Coffee place and staff also first rate. Housekeeping friendly and helpful. Front desk welcoming and very helpful with everything. Laundry machines had credit card usage added.

Cons:

Cleaning corridor floors leading to guest rooms. No laundry detergent and tumble dryer inserts available for purchase.
