Kingston Regency Inn

This hotel should be condemned. Many electricians, linemen, grid workers arrived exhausted after working 16+ hours to restore power to the Kingston area. Only to find the rooms they were assigned, were unmade and dirty. Assigned different rooms, no sheets or bedding. Were told it's all in the laundry (what???) No soap or shampoo or towels and washcloths. What a disgrace!

A staff member was smoking right outside the door despite signs that state the law won’t allow smoking within 20 feet of the building. When I complained, he THREATENED us and said he would damage our car! Upon checking, the desk clerk didn’t appear for 15 minutes while I and another guest waited angrily, as our vacations were just wasted. That same clerk was later not at the desk either. The phone did not work, and the cabinet door housing the refrigerator would not latch so it dangerously stood wide open in the path to the bathroom. Total junky place.

It took us about an hour in hot hallways to find our room. Even staff had no idea where it was. This hotel is a maze and the room number is idiotic. Also stiffed me with some unrecognized charge I had to dispute. Also I took a nice video of the mouse by hotel entry. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible stay. I know one review will not make any difference. But very disappointed. No power to the room for 4+ hours. Only air condition working and bathroom light. The desk clerk offered another room. Status with that one. General Manager no response. The owner of the property should focus on customer retention and service. Every unhappy customer causes lot of negative outcomes for the business. The new hotel leadership team should be evaluated based on overall performance rather than just the topline. Customer retention.

This hotel is very convenient, located right off the highway which made travel easy. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was smooth. My room was clean and well maintained, which made for a comfortable stay. Overall, a simple, easy, and pleasant experience, and I would consider staying here again.

Convenient location as a central point for tourism in the Hudson River Valley. The room was clean and comfortable, check-in was easy. Parking is plentiful.

Bed was fairly comfortable.

I found 2 ticks in my bathroom and the person at the front desk showed no consideration for the issue of having found ticks and offered no discount of compensation at the time of check out. I did take a picture that i will share at a later date if needed.

Location only

We are currently staying here. It’s gross. There are people openly smoking weed all over the hotel. There is some sort of Memorial Day DJ Dance party in the bar/event venue and the bass is pounding in our room at 10:30 on a Sunday night. The pool is inexplicably closed. We were in the arcade with our 10 year old son and a staff member walked by and said nothing but then shut the power off, leaving us in total darkness. It smells like stale food everywhere. If you are a family with kids - just don’t book it. Not appropriate for families. Feels like a sex trafficking hotel. Yikes.
