Cons:

Our room was next to 20 or so aircon units outside the window, very noisy. For a family room it was tiny .
We requested 2 rooms next to each other and that didnt happen.

Proximity and the staff

Cons:

Room sofa was too old and has stains. There was a false fire alarm during our stay and we had to wake up the kids and evacuate quickly.

Pros:

The staff were fantastic. Came in after a long boring train trip to happy smiling woman who made me feel very comfortable and it is safe. I had no issues and went to my room after a very short time. So professional with check in, great directions to my room.
Staff at the bar extremely nice.
Will come back.

Cons:

The big black tap with a tiny basin and no hooks or towel racks to put the towel.

Comfortable and convenient also very neat and enjoyable place
Pros:

I have stayed here a few times and have been very happy with everything and everyone, it is in a perfect location and the staff where very nice and helpful the breakfast was delicious thank you

Cons:

The first time I stayed I was not happy with the parking it was way to small and the car parking around the corner was supposed to be a set price but it was not and it cost a lot of money

Pros:

This rather iconic building is situated in the heart of Melbourne opposite the busy Southern Cross station and within the free tram zone with easy access to the river and south bank so no complaints on location. What let this hotel down was that it is rather souless. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded which was a good start but our suite situated on the second floor whilst large was dull, dark and to be honest rather dreary and the view - well we didn't really get one - it was a wall. So in a trip that covered six weeks and numerous places to stay I am afraid this one came out bottom. I will though praise it its policy to reward the guests with $10 dollars at the bar if you opted not to have your room cleaned. Two nights and a free round later everyone's happy. Only come across this initiative in one other hotel - more should follow.
