A lovely stay in a stylish hotel
Pros:

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Particularly the staff behind the bar downstairs who were really attentive and personable. The hotel has clearly been recently revamped and the downstairs areas are wonderful spaces to be in. Our room was also lovely and quiet. We used the swimming pool and other leisure facilities which were clean and pleasant to use

Cons:

It looks as though the bedrooms have been updated but our bathroom had seen better days. Broken tile behind what looked like a new bath tap, discoloured grouting. It was clean but just looked sad compared to the rest of the hotel.
Also, the first night we were there, there was constant road noise at night (not the hotels fault I know) but I realised the window at the end of the corridor right next to our room was open, once that was shut the road noise was much quieter.

Cons:

Definitely not up too the usual Marriott standard of all round excellent hotel. No green tea, no bathrobes or slippers in deluxe room, had to ask for!

A satisfying haven buried in a disconcerting mess.
Pros:

Nice facilities, pool, bar and Restaurant comfy clean room. Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

Paying for parking. Busy roads and location in centre of crumbling roads and busy traffic. Didn’t feel safe leaving the grounds of hotel as drugs taking and antisocial behaviour on every street corner. In the main city centre too! This is GB 2026 - disgraceful
