Great place to stay if you're visiting Tromso for a few days.
Pros:

Great breakfast, super comfy mattress and light and fluffy duvet. Comfortable seating area with free tea/coffee. Great location near main shopping street, bus station, good restaurants.

Good value for money
Pros:

The hotel offers an excellent breakfast with many delicious options! The staff is excellent and very helpful. The rooms are small and cramped and get very hot in the early morning; I think they overdo it a bit with the heating. The cleanliness could be better. Compared to other hotels in the area, I think it's good value for money because the location is great, close to many good restaurants, shops, and markets.
But the cleanliness leaves something to be desired.

Great hotel in a great location. Would stay there again
Pros:

Great location, bedroom comfortable with a fridge, quiet, breakfast room bright and airy with excellent range of buffet breakfast. Luggage store is available. Very close to a bus stop for the AirPort Express bus.

Cons:

Front desk often quite busy - could do with more staff on reception to deal with other queries. No ice machine available for guests and only option was for reception staff to fetch from adjoining restaurant upon request - not always a quick process. Would be good if they cleared the snow/ice from the front of the hotel like a lot of the businesses do - it can be extremely slippery which is extra tricky with luggage to manoeuvre in/out.

A nice stay
Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I also really appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax after a long day.
The location was excellent and very convenient for getting around and exploring the area. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. I would happily stay here again in the future.

Excellent Service, Comfortable and Clean Room, Delicious Daily Breakfast, Great Location!

I would like to express SPECIAL THANKS TO DARINA at the front desk who helped me a lot with the confirmation of my five (5) tours. It was challenging for me after my flight to Tromso on March 23 was cancelled due to a sever snowstorm. I had to re-book everything, including the tours. I was under big stress and Darina was amazing: courteous, friendly, compassionate, understanding, kind, efficient, firm when needed (re: being picked up at the hotel for the Northern Lights Tour), with a great sense of humor (which I really needed under the circumstances, a true Professional with a capital letter "P." I felt very comfortable and at ease, and "the Star of the Show!" I would like The Administration of the Hotel to know and acknowledge hard work and excellent service provided by Darina! I am sure she is a great asset to/for the Hotel. Please let her know how appreciative I am of her assistance and my excellent review of her services. Thank you, Darina! Thank you, Everyone of Thon Hotel Polar! I will recommend your Hotel to anyone and everyone who plans t visit Tromso!!!! Sincerely, :)lga Ruh

Absolutely wonderful
Pros:

So central! Everything we needed was right on our doorstep.

Excelente ubicación, cerca de todo. Hotel muy tranquilo, bien insonorizado. Excelente desayuno bufet. Personal muy amable

Cons:

El tamaño de la habitación es muy justo. La limpieza no es muy profunda aunque sí correcta. En la televisión no había ningún canal internacional en español
