Next to a good restaurant

Cons:

The staff were rude and horrible. Especially Irina and the night manager. Will never stay here again and suggest you don’t either. I paid equivalent of $435 USD a night which included a very nice breakfast. However the day I checked out early for a flight I was told the kitchen would make a to go meal for us. I asked what it would be and was told I would get a call back — which I never did. When I called later to confirm I was told the to go breakfast would be ham and cheese sandwiches. Now, being vegetarian and Jewish, we don’t eat ham. When I told Irina this she said there was nothing that could be done. She suggested we take out the ham and eat just the bread. I asked it the chef in the morning could make two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and was told absolutely not. When I asked for a partial refund again I was told no. Even a nominal refund as an apology for the inconvenience would have gone a long way. Instead she argues and talked over me. When I later calmly asked the nurse guy manager he said they were not obligated to do anything and that providing the to go meal was an extra service. I asked them what the felt the heart of hospitality was and they did not have an answer. I said I knew they had the discretion to make an alternative or make a small refund but they were choosing not to do so. The attitude was the rub, not interested in being helpful. And for what? A simple request. Please choose another hotel. This one is not worth the money bc the service is terrible, awful, despicable.

Great place to stay if you're visiting Tromso for a few days.
Pros:

Great breakfast, super comfy mattress and light and fluffy duvet. Comfortable seating area with free tea/coffee. Great location near main shopping street, bus station, good restaurants.

Good value for money
Pros:

The hotel offers an excellent breakfast with many delicious options! The staff is excellent and very helpful. The rooms are small and cramped and get very hot in the early morning; I think they overdo it a bit with the heating. The cleanliness could be better. Compared to other hotels in the area, I think it's good value for money because the location is great, close to many good restaurants, shops, and markets.
But the cleanliness leaves something to be desired.
