Venue,restaurant and bar very nice
Rooms were filthy. We booked two rooms and the one wasn't as bad but I wouldn't recommend a stay there if you like a clean room.
Big room. Hard working staff. Brilliant location.
Some quite evident maintenance issues. Lots of water damage in our bathroom due to a poorly installed shower screen. Decor needs a redo. Windows needed a clean, and one didn't fully shut.
This place used to be very desirable. Somewhere you went out for a 'special meal'. Could very easily be improved with some maintenance and maybe some more staff on. That said prices are not too bad.
Beautiful setting.
It wasn’t clean in the bathroom.
A house keeping person walked in on me before check out time.
Staff seemed under pressure and it was easy to pick this vibe up. By the way they were talking & their body language. They didn’t seem happy in their role!
Location amazing. Partly thatched ancient Inn
Room paint peeling off bath panel needs redecoration in bathroom room 18
shower
bed was comforatble

Location
Needs an update bathroom needed a good clean
The location was absolutely beautiful and was what drew us to booking
It is very tired and needs a lot of maintenance especially outside. Cobwebs everywhere and needs a good clean. Even though our room had a lovely view of the river i wouldn’t recommend as had to duck all the time with sloping ceilings. Staff were lovely and breakfast delicious
Staff were friendly ,helpful and hard working.
The bedroom was in need of refurbishing.
Ill fitting shower screen.
TV not working.
Service poor in the dining room ,table booked for 19.00, food finally served at 20.40 !!
Location, food and staff
Room 12 was a little bit 'dusty' especially in the toilet
Great location by the River Exe
Good food and friendly
Great location and good food.
Location
Dirt. The food and the staff were more interested in closing the kitchen
Location was just right for a wedding near by
This has to be the shabbiest and grubby hotel in which I have ever stayed. Windows dirty and fixed so not possible to get any effective ventilation. Room very hot. Food very average, staff not very enthusiastic.
Location next to the river was amazing. Staff were friendly
Room was a little compact in places but not really a problem, added to the charm really
Very good breakfast and lovely location
We had dinner in the restaurant. My husband ordered a sirloin steak and had to send it back as it was very tough and inedible. They took money off the bill to compensate.
