Sink and toilet broken. No telephone in room for emergencies. Filthy. Stinky.
Someone reached out once after i wrote a review and i was not able to grab the call so i called them back hrs later and the oerson had already left and person that did answer phone said the oerson would call me the next day. No one gave me a call concerning my issue.
I made the reservation and it was supposed been in Grand Rapids OHIO and somehow it got switched to GRAND RAPIDS MI, I called the same date to try to fix it, but they would not give my money and help me fix the mistake!!!!
I would have thought that with it being the same chain they would have worked with me, but i guess not!!!
The bathroom needs a serious remodel job. The place is pretty run down. Eggs and sausage would have been nice to have for breakfast instead of stale bagels. The orange juice was good though.
Doesnt have a hot tub anymore. Main reason we chose this property. The toilet seat was about to fall off. I went back downstairs and asked for towels and they didn't want to give them to me. We only had two in the room and the swimming pool didn't have any. I also asked for a blanket for my kids and was told that they couldn't give those out. I won't be staying at this property again and don't recommend it to anyone else
The toilet had old urine and hair on it. The area is very unsafe as well
This place is not near downtown at all. It is way out on the outskirts and in a very sketchy neighborhood. There was mold on the ceiling above the shower and there were people passing out on the side walks outside. Barely a breakfast bar.. donut holes don’t count. Do not recommend.
No balcony no gym was locked staff was good. No hot food.
We called ahead speficially to ask about the hot tub and pool listed among the amenities and were told specifically that was they were both working. We found the area the tub had been filled in with cement, and the pool was unheated.
Balcony consisted of a tiny, fenced in first floor area adjoining the parking lot. The fence was more than head high and precluded any view (again, of the parking lot). Given the neighborhood and adjoining businesses, and group of gentlemen who spent the evenjng hanging out around the parking lot entrance, the extra high fence was probably a blessing in disguise.
The screen door to the balcony was in the same general poor repair as most of the rest of the hotel. We wanted to be able to air the room out as it smelled like a combination of smoke and dog, and the dilapidated air conditioner only made the smell worse.
The tub had stains and there was no fan in the bathroom. There were amenities such as a minifridge, microwave, tv and coffee maker, but there werent enough outlets to have them all plugged in simultaneously, so be prepared to pull out furniture.
The bed seemed clean enough, sheets were soft, no complaints there.
We got what we paid for, I suppose. My car was still there and we got a good nights sleep. Next time I would definately pay a little more to feel safer.
The staff was fine, we didnt have to go hunting for them and the transactions went normally.
Breakfast was meager but existed.
Wouldnt go back. Wouldnt take family.
People were always hanging out in front of the building or in the parking lot. The garbage can outside was overflowing with trash on the ground.
The hotel advertised a jacuzzi and have a picture on their page but it was cemented over.
The hallways smelled musty and the room with the pool was worse.
There was mold on ceiling above the tub in the room. The tub looked dirty and the water pressure was very light. When we put a towel on the ground to shower, it turned yellow when it got wet so something was on the floor.
They had a lot of stuff for my kids to do
The staff is awesome
Staff demeanor, not pleasant or courtesy. No ice, could not get a water from machine, Barely hot water to shower with, bathroom and tub very poor condition, or quality, breakfast juice terribly watered down. 1-2 am check-ins loud and noisy in halls.
The pool was dirty, the game room was a room with games in it but non worked and you need a separate key, the elevator shakes back and forth violently, and the placement of the door to the bathroom is questionable. Bring power strips as there aren't many chargers.
I want to start by saying that our room was very clean & comfortable! The staff we did encounter was friendly! However, the hotel is in a weird area. It’s sort of industrial & rundown with people lurking. Seems there are a lot of long term residents living at this property. The property is clearly older and rundown. Hallway carpets stained, room doors with huge holes & missing handles due to police activity, breakfast was plain bagels, white bread, packets of instant oatmeal & donut holes. Breakfast felt more like a punishment than a way you’d want to start your day. There was never a luggage cart so we resorted to using the wheelchair in the lobby to transport our things to/from the room. This was an inexpensive one night stay for a concert we were attending nearby! Location was convenient to the arena. Someone was being arrested in the parking lot the night we were returning from the concert. The pool area is odd. Appears to have been a nice property back in its day but her age is showing. If you’re in the area for one night, then this isn’t the worst I’ve seen.
The room had nothing in it, no soaps for hand washing, nothing. Air conditioner was squicking bad. It's not a pleasnt sight to see a pooled filled in with dirt and old fencing out our window. Smelled like heavy smoke and the floor was bleeding water when pressed on and found dead bugs in corners. Paint was chipping all around.
I was upset. There was no hot tub as advertised, the pool was tiny and cold and gross. The ice machine was broken so we had to go upstairs to get any and I have MS. That sucked. They ALSO double charged me and said they refunded it but I haven't gotten it back even tho my deposit came right back. It wasn't what I wanted it expected.
The Hotel has low income visitors in the parking lot and hotel. The staff allows attack dogs barking all the time at guests to stay. Pool was very good. Gym small, breakfast was limited to bread. 10 minutes drive from Downtown. Low income part of Grand Rapids.
Bathtubs were dirty in both rooms they switched me too, staff double charged me, couples arguing, water damage, looked like a trap house
When we arrived, I had already checked in online - I was told I needed to give my CC again, so I did. Never asked if it was something special (there for a birthday) wasn't asked if we wanted to upgrade the room - every time I left the person at the desk was on their phone - one time I walked up to the desk I even had to say excuse me because the desk person (a gentleman) was so engrossed in his phone he didn't even notice I was there - the pool had to have a separate key card, they didn't provide towels at the pool, you had to bring your own, the phone in my room was broken so I couldn't call room service even if I wanted to. The Breakfast was on time, and they left it up for a few minutes past 9, which was nice for those who were on their way out, they could grab something. I had interacted with the cleaning staff on my floor, and they were very, very nice to give me fresh towels (I had the do-not-disturb sign on my door, but they were cleaning, and I asked quickly; they were very, very friendly).
