The room itself was clean and the housekeeping team were attentive. Front desk staff were polite when approached.
I ordered seekh kebabs with a mint yoghurt dip from in-room dining on 14 April. Within hours I was severely ill with vomiting and diarrhea through the night. Three weeks later, back home, I am still experiencing symptoms and undergoing further testing.
The hotel doctor did not attend my room as I was told he would; he prescribed remotely by phone, and the medication was then charged to my room.
My bank card became stuck in the hotel's in-house ATM on 13 April and was not returned until 20 April — approximately 7 days. The hotel's position is that the ATM is operated by an external bank and not their responsibility.
When I asked for the General Manager's email to escalate, multiple staff refused to provide it. My initial email to the GM bounced because the property uses a separate local domain.
The property's investigation consisted of a sensory inspection of the food. I asked twice in writing whether laboratory testing was performed; this was not answered. The General Manager confirmed in writing that the matter is closed and offered only a future-stay upgrade. Marriott International's Office of Consumer Affairs declined to engage, citing a licensing arrangement.
