One word a disaster!! Do Not stay there

Where do I start first the air conditioner was broken and I’m on oxygen so walking around was a struggle for me it was so hot and uncomfortable and then the breakfast was ice cold especially the pancakes and then we went to swim and I almost cut my foot on the floor of the pool as it’s cracked and broken. I tried to contact the manager but he dodged talking to me both through email and phone calls. Just horrible service!!!!!

Great bar!
Pros:

Great location right at the end of the causeway. I missed the entrance due to it looking like an alley or driveway and no street sign but made a quick turn around. Easy check in and nice front desk personnel. I was in Tower A. There was a sign on the sink to request a bath mat if needed. I did as the tub was slick but I never got it so I just put the cloth bathmat in the tub. No towel rods. The safe didn't work. Maintenance got it open, I put my stuff in it and then it wouldn't open again. He came back and got it opened, was going to take it but I waved him on (language barrier)--never mind and didn't use it. Fridge was set on coldest but it was barely cool. I put two cans in the ice bucket and went to fill it but the ice machine didn't work. SPI had a cold snap from the north and the heat wouldn't work. The thermostat was on the wall and not the window unit. I popped open the battery compartment--corroded. So I took the covers off the other bed and threw them on top of mine. Good hot water and pressure in the shower. Two washers and two dryers by the elevator. $5 in quarters for a wash, the dryers were free. One dryer was out of order. I read there was coffee and cinnamon rolls in the lobby between certain morning hours. There was coffee but never saw a cinnamon roll. There is sign for bar specials at the Seaside bar at the elevators but the bartender said they discontinued those two days before they put the sign up. ? All three pools were only 3 feet deep. No coolers or alcohol allowed at any of them. There was a pizza shack by the middle pool but it was never open. Maybe due to that last week of the year being chilly. The red flag flew on the beach the whole week. Many people ate breakfast at the cafe inside by the bar. The inside bar didn't open until 5pm (kitchen next door at 6pm) and it was the best bar. Roberto, Luz and especially Shannon who had just started working there. She knew what she was doing and spoke fluent English and Spanish. I was working on my Spanish as I know it is easier to learn than English. New Years Eve was so much fun. All the bartenders were great!

Holiday Inn - Padre Island
Pros:

Not a hotel I will ever use again. I am extremely disappointed with our recent stay at this hotel. We experienced several issues, including:
• Broken refrigerator and room phone
• Out-of-service vending and ice machines
• No response from the front desk by phone
• Elevators are not working properly
Due to all these issues we decided to leave a day early. This experience disrupted our Christmas travel plans and did not meet any of a Holiday Inn’s “Resort “expectations.
Although reward points were promised by the front desk (3000 reward points) as compensation, my account has not received any credits. Needless to say, this will not be a property that I use again or recommend to any of my friends

Ok for the price I paid about $100 a night
Pros:

The staff and location were great. Overall clean.

Cons:

Very outdated. My lampshade was full of rust or mold spots. The first floor was so humid the ac couldn’t keep up. It was so humid the sheets and carpet felt damp.
