Pros:

It was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Pros:

Absolutely nothing

Cons:

The staff was horrible and disrespectful. The manager started screaming as soon as I arrived. The food was disgusting and so expensive. The room smelled bad. The covers and pillows smelled like they didn’t dry well. It was such a horrible experience. I would never ever go back.

Pros:

The location.

Cons:

I stayed in room #4 and the mold smell was absolutely disgusting. I felt like I was going to have a panic attack!!
Everything's a hassle with the female owner. Your expected to buy their meals and pay stupid prices for cocktails and they don't even use fresh juices.
Your expected to donate $11.00 to their monkey and turtle rehab facility when you check out, but there;s no animals in their supposed facility.
This resort doesn't make it up front and clear that you are expected to drive a 4X4 to and from their property when you make the Reservation.
I was told that I had to empty all my luggage out of the back of my vehicle to get the hook out of the spare tire tool kit because I had to be towed out and they normally charge GUEST $50.00 to do so. "BS"
The truth is their too lazy to take you out the easy way buy just unchaining a gate on another driveway. I drove out of the property with a front wheel drive mini KIA with no tire spin.

Not a rally nice place
Pros:

The hotel has only a few rooms, and during our stay only two were in service, which made it very quiet. The view from the bar area is beautiful, overlooking the beach. The location is great, with a coastline that is still quite undeveloped, and there are some really nice beaches nearby that remain natural and peaceful

Cons:

The place feels “very forced”, and not nice karma. If you read other low rate reviews, you’ll see similar comments in this line. The food was just ok with not much variety. Also, be aware that prices end up much higher than expected because of taxes, credit cards extra commission, suggested tips. Among the four eco resorts we stayed at in Panama, this was the only one where we didn’t have really a great time.

It’s out of this world amazing!
Pros:

Such a beautiful lush piece of heaven! The wonderful host Cari, was responsive to all our questions very quickly on what’s app. She welcomed us immediately, took us on a tour of the facilities and showed us our room. Spectacular ocean access, the whole place is something you’ll want to experience! We did not want to leave!

Cons:

Not enough variety in food choices, although every dish we experienced was delicious.

Really a gem in the midst of the jungle that we can fully recommend.
Pros:

Amazing gem in the middle of the jungle. Lodges are embedded in nature. One morning the howler monkeys were all over the place. We went for a kayak trip amidst the mangroves. Perfect combination for water and nature lovers. The food is top quality. Cari and Ryan support some nature preserving projects. Cari is the Dian Fossey for the Azuero Mantle-Backed howler monkeys, an endemic species that is almost extinct. We also participated in a baby sea turtle release. As we are bird lovers we were thrilled to see 7 toucans in the nearby environment in one of the few panama trees that are left at the pathway to get to the lodge.

Cons:

As the lodge is embedded in the rainforest you need a 4x4 to do the last part of the off road. But do not worry because the owners pick you up if you do not have a 4x4.

The (he)art of ecotourism.
Pros:

Morrillo Beach Eco Resort is such an outstanding Place! In every Detail you feel the Soul of Cari & Ryan and they both do all they can to make your stay an amazing experience. We love the unique location, situated Directly at the river, the ocean and in the jungle. The beaches are amazing - Most of the time we had them for our own. Right in Front the eco Resort is the river where you can visit the magical mangroves by SUP or Kayak. We loved the authentic food (there is not a big Choice, but remember where you are and what‘s the intent oft an eco resort :-) ). Everything is freshly cooked and tastes so good! Directly on the Resort area lives a troop of howler Monkeys which are so cool to observe while your stay because it‘s Not such a Kind of Zoo but Their Natural habitat. Make sure to read Cari‘s Blog on the Website, which is very informative - you won‘t need a Travel Guide any more ;-). All in all it was an amazing stay on a stunning Place with heartwarming Hosts. Thank you a lot Cari & Ryan!

Cons:

Sad, that we couldn‘t stay longer because of our next destinations. ;-)

Wonderful wildlife and beach
Pros:

Suggest they offer more variety at breakfast like omelets.

Cons:

Guests need to know ahead of time that the menu is fixed and that the food is predominantly vegetarian. People like choices.

Unique and Delightfully Tucked Away in Paradise
Pros:

My wife and I make it a point to look for unique and eco-friendly places to visit that are off the beaten path, and Morrillo Bay definitely satisfied our criteria. This property is a labor of love and the care that the owners put into it is evident from the moment you arrive. We stayed only for three nights but we made friendships with both the hosts and the other guests that might just last a lifetime. Add the welcoming ambience to the incredible location and great food and amazing wildlife and birds (not to mention the views and the surf), and you’ll get a truly memorable experience. As an added bonus, we even had a nice little rumbling Panamanian earthquake one evening for no extra fee! As to the details, the guest rooms are spacious and quiet and comfortable with big glass doors and balconies that look into the forest (don’t be surprised to see iguanas and toucans and howler monkeys just a few feet away in the branches). The bar/eating area has a spectacular view of the wide beach and the cove, and there’s all-day service for cold drinks, plus meals (make reservations for dinner). Hosts Cari and Ryan can set up all sorts of activities and excursions from surf lessons to snorkeling to kayaking and hiking, or, like us, you can just relax in one spot and take in the ever-changing wildlife and tropical birds. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back!

We didn't feel like guests, we were just there to finance the sweet life of the two dropouts Cari and Ryan.
Pros:

The resort was not too big.

Cons:

- the noisy air conditioners, we could not sleep
- the breakfast, the worst in Panama
- the dinner, no choice, overpriced
- drinks prices too high, like in New York
- scruffy carpets in the room
- not really an ECO resort
- Beach only accessible by swimming or wading
