If it wasn't for the staff, this stay would've been a bust!
Pros:

I would like to begin by noting that I previously stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago when it operated under the Holiday Inn brand. I based part of my expectations on that experience, which, in hindsight, may not have been entirely fair.

The staff during my recent stay were the highlight of the visit. Brittany, who checked us in, was professional, kind, and friendly. She encountered some difficulty locating my reservation due to my hyphenated last name, but she handled the situation efficiently and with professionalism.

All of the other staff members we interacted with were equally helpful and courteous. We had several deliveries during our stay, and the team managed each one seamlessly. Every interaction was smooth and pleasant.

In the room, the bed was very comfortable! You have to request housekeeping. All requests for towels, etc. were handled promptly.

Cons:

After booking this reservation, I inquired about the possibility of an early check-in. I make this request with every hotel reservation, as I am typically an early riser—especially during road trips—and often arrive ahead of standard check-in times.

The response I received stated: “Although we are unable to guarantee early check-in, a request has been added and is subject to room availability upon arrival. If available, an early check-in fee may apply. Early check-in fees are as follows: $75 (7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.), $50 (9:01 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.), and $25 (11:01 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.).”

From what I have read, this type of fee structure is becoming more common at some hotels; however, I had not previously encountered a property that charges for early check-in. Interestingly, we arrived at the hotel around noon and were allowed to check in at that time without being charged any additional fee.

It is possible there was a misunderstanding, and the request was interpreted as a guaranteed early check-in rather than simply noting that we might arrive early and would appreciate a room if one was available.

The room was clean but showed a lot of signs of being remodeled by the lowest possible bidder contractor. The brown paint around the molding dripped onto the white wall paint in several places around the room, and the brown molding had white paint on it. The door in the bathroom had a lot of damaged on the bottom corner. There is barely any counter space in the bathroom, so I literally couldn't unpack most of my toiletries.

My other disappointment was there was only one set of dresser drawers in the whole room. Specifically, there was only two small drawers available for two people, who are heavy packers and we stayed there a week with a formal occasion during that week.

I understand that hotels get sold and new owners put their own spin on things, but I have to say I miss this hotel being under the Holiday Inn umbrella. In my opinion, it was better as a Holiday Inn.

I liked the city view

Cons:

I didn’t like how when it was raining the water was going through the elevators, the controller for my tv wasn’t working properly, the pool was out of service , the sauna wasn’t even too hot, & how I had to pay more money to get a late check out because 90% of the hotels let you stay for an hour more at least
They didn’t offer a discount since pool was out of service

Pricey but enjoyable
Pros:

Easy access. Within walking distance of many things. Comfortable bed and room. Second room given clean and quiet. Safe.

Cons:

Esmeralda checked me in and seemed annoyed when I asked a question. 1st room given had a bathtub that had backed up, drained and dried stuff in the bottom. Expensive but you’re paying for the area.

Overall, the location and view were definite highlights, but the rooms would benefit from updates and improved maintenan
Pros:

I enjoyed my stay overall, especially because of the great location and the nice view from the room. It was very convenient to get around, and the surroundings made the stay more enjoyable.

Cons:

However, there were a few downsides. The room felt a bit old, and cleanliness could have been better. Also, the hairdryer didn’t work as expected, which was inconvenient.
