My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. Spent a lot of money on a room for two nights. Got there at 3 PM. Had a large cardboard tube attached to the top of my Tahoe. It stuck out 5 feet from the back bumper. They refused to valet it and suggested I drive around and look for street parking somewhere. I went in and talked to a front desk person and they said they had talked to a manager and assured me that valet would take care of my vehicle. My wife and I started walking to go get dinner and the valet manager tracked us down and told us we had to come back and move the vehicle. Hotel management confirmed that we had to move the vehicle. Apparently the first manager who said valet would take care of it didn’t know what they were talking about? I’m not really sure where the confusion lands on that one. Regardless, we used street parking two blocks away. Had to check on the vehicle every 30 minutes to make sure nobody stole what was attached to the top. Completely ruined our first night of our 2 day getaway. I spoke to the manager after we departed and told him under the circumstances, I thought it would be a reasonable request to ask for half of my points back. He refused and only gave me 25% of my points. Incredibly frustrating. When mistakes like this happen and the hotel is at fault, they MUST go overboard to make things right if they want repeat business. Otherwise, paying customers will find other places to stay or eat, etc..
I haven’t stayed at the Mills House in years, but it is and always has been a pleasure. The Iron Rose Restaurant is excellent.
Everything was very nice. Building is beautiful. rooms are a little small. Typical in cities. The building has an old smell.
This was an outstanding hotel! What made it extra special was Courtney. She has the best customer service and I’ll return just because of her.
Beautiful hotel. Great location. Highly recommend.
Very nice hotel and wonderful staff! Just noisey rooms unfortunately. Especially the pool level.
Great location, wonderful staff and a unique historic experience with modern amenities. Place is old, very clean and comfortable. We will be staying here again because there is so much more to see.
Had the best time. Super friendly staff and hotel was clean.
The location cannot be beat. The rooms were fantastic, the hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The HIlton app worked better at this property than at any other Hilton property. I am giving 5 stars. However, there are a couple things...I asked for housekeeping and it didn't come. And, the water was crazy. It would completely shut off during a shower or even when brushing my teeth. However, all in all, I would highly recommend!
The perfect location in historic Charleston. Literally within a couple of blocks of several excellent restaurants, museums, shopping, and historical sites. Nice amenities with pleasant service.
A very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location.
What a lovely experience. The service was excellent, focused on our needs and accommodating to our many requests. The restaurant was wonderful and the bar service delightful and the atmosphere fun. The room was very clean and well appointed. Loved the style of the hotel with the beautiful artwork everywhere and it’s a very convenient location.
Everything was amazing and Noel gave us an awesome check in
Hotel is perfectly located in central downtown and easy to walk everywhere within the historic city districts. Hotel itself is lovely, and has so much to offer , room was immaculate and the staff was just so friendly and accommodating, thanks for a great time
The location was perfect for walking access to Great restaurants, exhibits, homes, historical sites, and shopping. From our room we could see the old city, the Bay, Church steeples, the Bridge, and more. The amenities and cleanliness were exceptional.
My wife were at the Mills House on the 2nd leg of our anniversary trip coming back to Charleston from Hilton Head. The room was nice, although we were hoping with my Diamond status we would have been put in something a bit nicer. Having the bathroom door right next to the bed was a bit of a disappointment. The cleanliness of the room was good although there was a contact lense and hair on the floor of the bathroom. The location of the hotel was incredible to be able to walk to everything was amazing. We would come back to this hotel again.
Adorable boutique hotel . Great location , pool , , bar , coffee shop
Awesome location. Clean and very quiet location
Aesthetic was nice, coffee and food was good.
We paid for a deluxe city view room and was put on level 3 in a small king room with a view of a car park and no city view. Went to reception and complained as we paid for the higher floor larger deluxe room with city view only to be told that our room was the correct one and made no effort to acknowledge our concern and ignored the fact that their website stated otherwise. As per their website and booking.com it clearly showed we were in-fact in the standard king which was smaller and no view but a dirty window and a car park. We sent details and evidence to booking.com and received a partial refund as the evidence provided we were in-fact lied to!. I was greatly disappointed in our stay as we travelled 48 hours from overseas for this experience and missed the magical views of this beautiful city.
Lovely property, great location, comfortable bed and great food at Iron Rose. Elevator (both at one point) was a bit annoying, but older properties have their challenges. All front facing employees were hospitable, friendly and on top of their game. Love seeing that as it made for an enjoyable 6 night stay.
