Peakstones Inn was very easy to find on our Sat Nav. We chose to stay here being close to Alton Towers and to support the local residents, we only live near Pontefract, but it was nice to cut down the travel in 1 day. Peakstones Inn is a short 5-10 minutes drive away from Alton Towers which was excellent.
There was plenty of parking spaces as we drove into the car park, we arrived about 6pm and it was nice to have flexibility in arrival time. Me and my two children were greeted by the lovely hostess Margaret and her family, they were very welcoming!
My 2 children were tired and we did not use the restaurant downstairs but next time we need to try it, we enjoyed chilling out in the bedroom that evening. The views out our window were gorgeous, we could see rolling hills. Our beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The building itself is wonderful, very quirky and full of character.
We went for breakfast the next morning and the team went above and beyond, we had a lovely chat too with the lady who served our breakfasts. It was very delicious and it set me up for the day. Thank You so much for a memorable and very pleasant stay - we will definitely be back!
Nothing!
Myself and my 2 x grandchildren stayed here for the purpose of going to Alton towers
Location excellent only a 5-10 minute drive to the theme park
Had everything we needed for a short break
The pub and bar was very friendly and ideal for a little drink and some food
We didn’t bring any toiletries as stated were included , would advise bringing your own , as there was just a small amount of shower gel left in the bottle in the shower room
it’s clean and the member staff i did come across was friendly and easy to approach, and the owner was also so lovely!
it was hard to get to but i think that’s due to the location. would’ve been helpful with more members of staff as i was waiting around outside a little confused on how to get in ! :)
Lovely helpful staff. Clean, roomy, comfortable room. Great food with plenty of options.
Great location, in a lovely area, it was a lovely little pub. Staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
We liked that it was a separate little chalet not what we expected at all.
The rooms were dated but this added to its quirky charm.
Only complaints was beds were hard (wouldn't stop me recommending though) would have loved some toppers.
And a curtain to pull over the door as when the sun rises early, it lights the whole room up. Overall pleased. Thank you
The chalet was just what we needed - a comfortable base close to Alton Towers so that we could make the most of our day there. The staff were lovely and friendly and the location beautiful. It was a very hot day but we all slept well. And also excellent value for money.
Nothing - it was all very good.
The room was perfect for me & my family, the place is just so beautiful the bar/ restaurant & breakfast area are stunning & the circular pool table is a great touch! The staff there- Zoe the manager & Margaret the owner are just so lovely & so are the rest of the staff. Make you feel so welcome & it’s just such lovely cosy place right next to Alton Towers. Stunning views of country side too from the bedroom window was lovely. It’s was my daughter’s 13th bday (hence the trip to Alton Towers) and when we got back they had put happy birthday decorations in the room too. Really was a lovely stay & would 100% stay again
The shower head in bathroom could be a bit stronger but was still usable & great temperatures, apart from that it was perfect
I loved the traditional pub feel, friendly staff and lovely food! Margaret the owner was particularly lovely and loved chatting to us!
Nothing it was great!
