Cons:

MY RESERVATION WAS NOT HONORED AND
WE HAD TO WAIT MORE THAN AN HOUR TO GET SENT TO AN BEST WESTERN 25 MINUTES AWAY. We had a confirmed reservation given away to someone else ! Who does that? Best Western had breakfast buffet. You had nothing at breakfast

Buen hotel!
Pros:

Good Stay Overall, but Public Areas Need Improvement
Pros:

I recently stayed at The Bethesdan Hotel in Bethesda, MD, and overall I would describe it as a solid, good hotel with a few noticeable areas that could use improvement.

The rooms are nice, and I appreciated that there seems to be substantial concrete between rooms, which helps with noise from neighboring guests. That said, I could still hear hallway doors shutting, so it was not as quiet as I had hoped. Still pleasant!

One thing that stood out was that the housekeeping staff frequently used the same guest elevators, which made me wonder whether there is a dedicated service elevator. It is not a major issue, but it did affect the overall guest experience a bit.

The area that most needs attention is the front desk and lobby entrance. The front desk area really needs a deep, detailed cleaning. The wood flooring could use a thorough scrub, and the grouting between panels in and around the front desk, while attractive in design, appears worn and should be redone. None of this seems like it would require a huge investment, but it would make the hotel feel cleaner, more polished, and better maintained. Right now, the lobby entrance feels a little rough, especially compared with some of the newer Bethesda properties nearby.

Another odd touch was the microwaves placed on the floors, which looked very inexpensive and out of place for the overall property. It felt like an area where the hotel could present itself better.

The Staff everywhere seemed like they were trying - but they all seemed a little awkward. Again, everyone seemed to be accommodating - much appreciated!

Finally, the bathtubs appear to be due for repainting or refinishing, which added to the sense that certain details are being overlooked.

Overall, this is a good hotel with comfortable rooms and solid potential, but the common areas need more care and updating to create a better first impression.

Disappointing
Pros:

Paid a premium price, but the experience did not meet expectations. The pool was closed when I arrived at 8:20 PM and only opened around midday the next day after I had already checked out.

Breakfast was not included and required an extra charge, which I prepaid at check-in. However, the front desk failed to provide the required breakfast pass, so I was incorrectly presented with another bill during breakfast, even when I have not finished eating.

The kitchen staff was friendly, but the dining experience felt overly attentive an d chatty, which made me uncomfortable. I prefer a quiet, relaxed breakfast, but the atmosphere felt more like a full-service restaurant than a hotel breakfast area. Had I known this beforehand, I would have chosen to eat elsewhere for better food and lower cost.

The breakfast itself was disappointing — just standard eggs, sausages, and basic menu items, with nothing memorable or high quality. I have eaten far better breakfast at 3 star restaurants and that was included.

Meh…Wouldn’t stay again. Better options elsewhere
Pros:

Property was in a good location close to downtown Bethesda

Cons:

Common areas were not clean. Felt like the hotel charged for every little detail from WiFi to the water in the room. Parking costs for guests was also outrageous. So in addition to the high costs it felt like we were being squeezed for every little detail. Restaurant food was also low quality.

Do better
Pros:

Rude front desk night staff . my room was locked from the inside. They refused to provide me with another room made me wait while they figured out how to unlock it.
The hotel is sadly poorly maintained: litter outside, dirty elevators ; solid 2.5-3 star hotel

Lipstick on a pig
Pros:

This is the first time in a long time where I have to leave a bad review. I was looking forward to staying at this Tapestry collection property. When I arrived, there was a group of about 500 kids checking in. I totally get and understand that groups come – however the hotel was not wise enough to put all of these kids on the same floor. As well, I stood around and tried to get the attention of the front desk for sometime before just opting for a digital key. When I went up to my “upgraded” room I immediately noticed how dated everything looked. I believe this used to be a Doubletree Hotel and I do think Hilton should be ashamed about having this Tapestry collection property so nearby Marriott HQ. It was clear no one had cleaned my balcony doors in months. Someone had artfully drawn hearts in the dust that I have attached here. There was a placard stating to let the front desk know if we needed anything. I realized I forgot my charging cable. I tried to call down to the front desk and quickly realized the phone did not work, which is also a security issue. I went downstairs and asked if they had a extra plug. They immediately pointed me to their shop and said I could buy one it was about $25-$35. So much for the placard in my room that said I could ask the team if I needed anything. The window balcony doors were not airtight. I heard cars in street traffic all night. The doors were also not airtight and around 5 AM when the kids got up every single door in my hallway was slamming. This morning when I checked out, I approached the front office gentlemen and let him know that this was not a good stay. He kind of just looked at me and said oh sorry. It was very clear. He did not care whatsoever. I did proceed to tell him about the dirt in our room and he provided me an incorrect email address that I could send it to. I am not sure exactly who is managing this hotel but it is clear. It is not being paid any attention. Save your money and stay at a Hilton Garden Inn, which will probably be nicer, nearby.

The water that could not be turned to wine. Because there was none
Pros:

Room was clean. It was a very quiet place. However, when I reported that there was no working or running water in my bathtub and shower. The front desk stated " so you didn't pay for it so it don't matter." Think about it before you stay at the Bethesdan as a guest at this hotel you don't matter. Whether you pay or an organization pays it for you. Stay at your own risk.
