Overall incredible experience. But there is a hidden gem inside the hotel and that’s their restaurant Steelpan. First we had breakfast over there and we loved it Raj our server was really helpful and was on top of everything, like refilling coffee , water we don’t have to ask for it he already knew it. Then he recommended to come and try their lunch menu and my god their her chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwich we ever had. 5 star to Sonesta and their team members.

I had a great stay at the hotel and really enjoyed my experience overall. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything felt comfortable during my visit. I also want to give a special shoutout to my server, JESSICA at the restaurant. She was awesome—very attentive, kind, and made the dining experience even better. Great service like that really stands out. I would definitely recommend staying here!

I chose Sonesta Ft. Lauderdale Beach to celebrate my birthday and I have no regrets! The front desk was welcoming and helpful. Although I didnt bring my pet, the hotel is pet friendly yet I saw no negative signs of pets.
The hotel is across the beach and your beach chairs were included. The hotel has a restaurant/bar and Andy was AWESOME! Throughout my stay, I met one of the Managers Ron and he checked in on me daily. When he learned that I was celebrating my bday, he had a cheese tray and bottle of sparkling sent to my room:). The hotel is near/walking distance/$6 uber ride away from ALL of the highlights in the area!

First, let me start by saying the view was absolutely amazing. My family and I loved waking up every morning, opening the curtains, and seeing the beautiful beach. The location is definitely this hotel's biggest selling point.

Unfortunately, there were several issues that made our stay disappointing. The rooms were much smaller than they appeared in the photos online, and the queen beds felt more like full-size beds. When you walk into the lobby, it looks spectacular and gives the impression of a luxury experience. However, once you get to the rooms, they don't match the same level of quality or appearance. I wish the same effort that was put into renovating and maintaining the lobby had been extended to the guest rooms.

The biggest issue was the air conditioning. We arrived to a warm room with the thermostat already reading 76 degrees. We adjusted it and notified the front desk before heading out to do some sightseeing, as we were in town for the Ballin' on the Beach tournament. When we returned later that evening after grabbing dinner, the room was still warm and the thermostat had actually gone up to 77 degrees.

We called the front desk again around 9:45 p.m., and they sent maintenance. Oddly enough, the maintenance worker arrived with equipment that appeared to be for handling leaks. After explaining that our issue was the air conditioning, he left the room. About five minutes later, the front desk called and informed us that they would move us to another room. By this point, it was around 10:25 p.m.

Thankfully, the new room was right next door on the same floor. However, when we entered, it was also warm and sitting at 76 degrees. Eventually, the air conditioning began working properly, and we thought our problems were finally solved. Then my husband went to use the bathroom and discovered the toilet wouldn't flush. I honestly couldn't make this up. Now we had a cool room but no functioning toilet.

To the staff's credit, they responded quickly whenever we called. They were friendly, professional, and did their best to address each issue. However, it was frustrating that my family had to deal with so many problems in the first place.

Another surprise was the Fiji water left in the room. If you open one, an $8 charge is automatically added to your bill. That felt excessive and should be made more obvious to guests.

To top it all off, on our final night, the air conditioning stopped working again, leaving us to sleep in another warm room.

Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless your only priorities are being close to the beach and having a place to sleep. The incredible view and friendly staff are the reasons I'm giving it 2 stars, and honestly, that's being generous.
