Stay was great. We would stay there again.
Pros:

Clean, quiet, comfortable, location and staff that we had spoke with were very pleasant and handled all my questions along with checking in/out.

Cons:

Paying over $16 per person for breakfast for a kids that don’t even eat that much. The two actually shared a plate of fruit and some bacon and one had a glass of juice.

FYI about beds- double bed don’t fit big boy and adult. (They were very comfortable though).

Pros:

Good breakfast items and bar staff.

Cons:

Kids were destroying everything, broke an elevator and playing on another making it near impossible for people to actually get on them and they did nothing about it. Our room had mold and mildew on the curtains. They are trying to double charge me even though I already paid (it even shows on my statement) but they are calling me a liar. Broken glass in the pool. All of this was mentioned to staff who absolutely didn’t care. Paid for club room access and was told when we got there that it didn’t open again until our last day there.

Ice Rink
Pros:

Elevator was broke, no apparent attempt to get fixed. Parking lot and walkways were covered in snow and ice, didn’t witness any attempts all weekend to provide safe walkways for patrons

Need to up event food a lot!
Pros:

Went to an event at the hotel this weekend. the food was absolutely terrible! the adiago chicken was certainly not what I had in mind when ordering it. it was basically a unglorified chicken strip, straight out of the freezer. our table did not get salad, dessert or drinks. For the most part the serving staff didn't speak English, so I'm guessing a lot got lost in translation. the bartenders were great and personable. our hotel room was nice. there is a definite need for more trash cans in the rooms. front desk staff was great. there was a broken elevator and I know other event goers were irritated as well as other guests. it took forever to get an elevator. if I'm staying on the upper floors, I don't want to have to take 8 or 9flights of steps. The food and the elevator were my biggest issues with our experience .

Overpriced, poor amenities, inaccurate listing and booking costs.
Pros:

Location is good. Sheraton is a respected brand.

Cons:

Cost was extremely high.
When we arrived, we were told we had to PAY FOR PARKING! in a giant lot that wasn't half full, just to extort more money. This is not New York City. It's on the outer edge of Des Moines. NO excuse for charging people for parking.
Room was tiny.
Vanity was tiny.
No towel bars!
Breakfast was just OK -- NO FRESH FRUIT, no yogurt, food flavors were not very good -- and we had to pay $15/person for that too.
No access to stairs from ground floor.
Overall, this was NOT a good experience, and we won't stay there again.

Pros:

Hotel is dated but a great place to stay. Might need a plumber to come check things out. When someone turned on their shower or flushed their toilet a loud squealing noise could be heard in our bathroom pipes.
