The staff, the service, and the overall quality were excellent.
Would recommend. Nice clean hotel with ample parking and close to the town centre. Food was OK but would have been better if more seasoning had been added. Avoid the desserts, however, as we had three different ones and they did not hit the spot for different reasons.
We had a comfortable room and excellent breakfasts and dinners here. Their mushroom pie and Cullen skink pie (yes, surprise presentation!) were delightful. Mark is an excellent host and provided prompt and attentive service to our needs. We plan to return next time we visit Speyside!
A fantastic meal, a larger portion than expected . Recommended meals by staff were mouthwatering . Bar staff and waiters were friendly which is why we will return here.
We are regular visitors to this lovely hotel. Our reasons for returning are the spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms,
the fantastic food and the hotel's great location. But above all is the wonderful hospitality shown by both Mark and Lucy. They are both very busy people but they always have time to assure themselves that you are comfortable and have everything you need. Lucy's food is exceptional, mainly because of her passion and skill but also because of her determination to use fresh produce from local providers. These great meals are enhanced by the lovely restaurant staff, a team who provide professional and friendly service. We thoroughly recommend this fabulous hotel.
The staff made us feel very welcome and accommodated our dog in the dining room for both dinner and breakfast, by removing once chair from a four seat table to allow her to lie close to us but not interfere with foot traffic.
Dinner was delicious.
Nothing
Very busy restaurant staff worked like absolute dogs which was hard to observe.
My meal was satisfactory but my wife's feather blade beef was tough we were too embarrassed to complain.
On chatting to the over worked staff member they informed us despite 60 covers + paying the 10% service charge the waiting staff only received a measly £25 tips per evening. Absolutely disgusting
Breakfast was fabulous 👌 cooked to perfection
Room was a bit tired but didnt spoil our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely white fluffy towels too.
Excellent
The service at dinner and breakfst
Found it hard to find the hotel
Excellent Breakfast > Pre order system worked well
Ideal location. Short walk into town centre
Evening Meal: Food very good but a bit pricey. Service a bit slow
We had a fantastic three-night stay at the Speyside Hotel with owners Mark and “chef” Lucy. From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The food was outstanding, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the whisky bar was a real highlight with an excellent selection.
The hotel’s location was perfect for our golfing trip, being close to both Grantown-on-Spey and Boat of Garten golf courses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
An excellent overnight stay in a traditional Scottish hotel. Very clean and comfortable, excellent food and very friendly, hospitable staff. Will definitely be returning guests.
