Absolutely Nothing
To long to list
The staff who supported me when I checked out was what ruined my stay
The location
Nothing
It was all bad
Staff was friendly and helpful.
No parking, room was small, breakfast was trash.
I liked how close it was to the convention center for our conference. It’s within a 10 minute walk.
They offered me the $72 bonus add on for breakfast and access to the revive lounge. I thought it may be a good idea given I needed to be at our conference by 9am. They advertised vegan options for breakfast which I appreciated because I don’t eat Pork and most of their breakfast was pork based. I grabbed an Egg burrito with cheese and salad and took two to my room. As I was taking a couple of bites I started tasting meat. It was PORK! My stomach was in knots and i immediately started feeling nauseous and ill. I went to the front desk to ask for a refund or some sort of compensation for the false advertisement but they refused and said because I booked through booking that the money they charged my upon arrival was already processed. To be clear there other breakfast options were bacon sandwich’s, sausage sandwich’s and trail mix (I’m allergic to nuts) & they had cereal which they did not have a lactose option for folks. I was so disappointed and for the rest of my stay I couldn’t really use the revival room for the breakfast I had paid for (other than coffee). Also when I brought this up they just kept saying “I’m sorry ma’am but wouldn’t do anything to help change or help fix the problem. I was truly surprised with the lack of care and attention given to the guests when problems arose. It was very expensive for the level of care and comfort we got.
The place seemed clean, good size tv, it has a bath
1. Locationwise (this is not their problem but I believe it’s good to share) parking is scarce, when you get there to check in you have to leave your car basically in the middle of the street and run inside, once you pay for parking (20 dlls only cash and preferably in 1 bill because they struggled for change) you are directed to park about a block away, we accidentally stepped on some vomit provided by some partygoers I assume, it was not really fun parking on a 5th floor and carrying a bunch of things late at night for a block..
2. The only vending machine in sight had Costco .50 cents water for 4 dlls, oh and only cash too.
3. They it a point to their non smoking policy… i believed the receptionist said it like 6 times during the less than 5 min check in time.
4. The window to the bathroom was directly to the apartments next door, felt strange to see people, bathroom was quite small and toilet looked like a public bathroom stall.
Closeness to the beach and non-smoking regulations
Staff checking in to assure everything was fine
Small bathroom and sink
The manger was mean.
It’s good
Location
We stayed for 4 nights and our flight didn’t go out until 11:00pm and they wouldn’t let us store our luggage for a few hours.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The room didnt have bugs everywhere. No smoking was allowed. The aquarium was a couple blocks away.
Paying $20 per night to park my car a few blocks away with no accessible or handicap parking available was frustrating. I didn’t like having to leave my car in the middle of the road just to check in, then drive to a nearby hotel to use their parking structure, walk back to my room with my bags, and repeat the whole process just to park. On top of that, I had to pay that $20 by 11 a.m. or risk being charged for an extra day, forcing me.to pull out enough money for my stay. Also, the process is inconvenient! You'll have to personally hand a $20 bill to the front desk clerk just to get a parking card for a completely separate location. Goodluck finding parking otherwise. The cars never leave, so just go to the Vons nearby and pull out enough money for the week.
The customer service was a 10 out of 10. Every staff member we encountered was very polite and helpful. Lobby area was clean.
The bed sheets and towels needed to replaced. The towels were very thin and dingy. The bedsheets were white but the pillowcases were dingy and yellow.
