The staff throughout The Gore were friendly, helpful and very welcoming.
The room was incredible and the hotel was stunning. The bar and cocktails were fabulous whilst the breakfast was high quality.
There was nothing not to like, even the old fashioned shower and bath combination worked with the feel and appearance of the hotel.
Friendly check in staff
Exceptional location for Royal Albert Hall
Comfier bed, quite hard. Room very hot on arrival.
Beautifully decorated, very quirky with a distinct style, lovely details and extras. I actually preferred this hotel to a very very famous 5 star in london i was at the week before, without a doubt i will be back to this hotel. The heating actually worked (i find lots of hotels to be cold and not easily adjusted) the bed, was quite possibly the most comfortable bed i have evee slept in. Absolutely loved it here as did my daughter.
I loved everything
The Hotel was very tastefully decorated with lovely attentive staff
The room was very warm
Attentive staff, nothing too much trouble
Nothing
We loved the excellent service, the tasty meals and drinks, the cosy atmosphere and the location.
The few minor things that did not align with an otherwise lovely stay: a clogged drain in the shower and a board directly below the sink that came off repeatedly - both were fixed immediately upon request.
Accueil parfait
Literie excellente
Pros:
The decor is beautiful and so classy and you really get the feeling of being a late century Victorian mansion. Lovely library and bar. Despite being an old building it is so well maintained.
The staff is very polite and helpful. Special shout out to the breakfast service team for their amazing hospitality and service
The room is very clean and comfortable and the lighting so cozy.
Loved the added touches of extra toiletries and tea/coffee and refill of water. A+ on the aesthetics
Breakfast was really nice- very fresh, tasty, and healthy options. Again, the service was seamless.
Location is great- very near public transport and a stone's throw from the beautiful Hyde Park and 8-minute walk to shopping on the High Street or to get some fresh groceries.
Cons:
(These are more in the perspective that this is an old building so that has to be factored in)
The room heating and cooling seems inconsistent. Do ask at the reception if the room is too hot and they will help regulate the temperature. They did ask me to open the windows and it is a good that you can (some hotels you can't!)
Water temperature in the taps also swings between either too hot or cold and needs a bit of fiddling
As it is an old building with wooden floors, noise does carry and you can hear footsteps and doors closing etc. This was not particularly problematic for me but could be an issue for some
More clarity at the front desk on the additional charges eg: service charge on breakfast even if it included and the discretionary service charge would be nice.
The staff were great. The facilities were pleasurable.
The bathroom had a bad smell. Not enough to complain about but there may just be odours coming back up from the drainage. Room 111.
Location for the Royal Albert Hall was superb - anyone atending a show there should consider this hotel.
Nothing.
Traditional charm and friendly atmosphere.
Breakfast was excellent.
Room was quite small
