Great stay, close to campus
Pros:

Everything we needed was there. The room was smallish, but super clean and nicely decorated . Loved the powerful shower pressure. The staff was exceptionally polite and accommodating. The bistro was a great amenity. The Doubletree was just a few blocks from the UW campus - perfect to visit our student.

Cons:

The rooms were a little compact, but did contain everything you might need.

Would stay again, convenient access to downtown places, nice parking for a fee, and I felt safe here
Pros:

Pleasantly surprised that the ADA rooms were close to the elevator - oftentimes they're at the end of a hallway very far from the elevators. Good blackout curtains. Nice that although the shower was NOT a roll-in like I expected, it did have a decent lip that prevented water from leaking onto the main bathroom floor which means I did not slip & fall like I did at another local hotel last year. Although not covered, I did like the rooftop parking access especially because it was not far from my room -convenient as I was going to/from the hospital a lot while there.

Cons:

Mobility bedrooms typically have shorter beds - I had trouble climbing up onto the high bed as my feet couldn't touch the ground. Also if I HAD been in a wheelchair, the lack of roll-in shower despite it being a mobility ADA room would've been tricky. Soaps/lotions/etc wall mounted a bit high up but manageable.
I was promised 4 bottles of water, there were only 2 but it wasn't worth calling about. Isn't this the place where I should get cookies at check-in? I didn't. Also, I had family book the hotel room while I was traveling - they were supposed to ask for a late check-in. When I arrived about 3AM I had been marked as a no show and it took quite a while to get checked in, although the staff was very nice about it. She did mark my room as do not disturb as I would be sleeping for the morning and then back to the hospital in the afternoon. I was in town to sit bedside while my mother was dying - not the most ideal or happy circumstances, but having my own space at the Doubletree rather than traipsing out to a family home in Verona made things easier on me.

I plan to be back in Madison and I plan to stay at the Doubletree by Hilton downtown again!
Pros:

I ate breakfast twice at the hotel bistro. Both times the food was excellent, served hot and the servers were pleasant and professional.
