Great Location, Excellent Check-In, Some Flaws
Pros:

Stayed two nights in January in a Standard King with Hilton Gold status and no upgrade. Check-in was the highlight thanks to Sean, who was professional, kind, and made the whole process easy, plus the prosecco was a nice touch. The room felt clean and recently refreshed, and the lobby and second floor looked good. Bed comfort and water pressure were both solid, though the shower head delivered a harsh stream without much volume.

Noise was generally okay, but the elevated train at the end of the block caused occasional rumbles that shook wall decor. Hallways looked dingy and had an old smell that did not match the refreshed areas. Wi-Fi was reliable but slow. Staff were friendly, but multiple times I saw groups chatting loudly and blocking doorways and walkways, which came off as unprofessional. One very tall dark-haired caucasian gentleman stood out as the biggest offender, and I want to be *clear* this is separate from Sean’s excellent service.

The biggest miss was food and beverage. The lobby coffee/breakfast counter had weak coffee, a limited menu most of the time, and overpriced items made with mediocre ingredients, like avocado toast on basic grocery bread with pre-made avocado puree. The Trophy Room rooftop bar was closed the entire stay, which made the nightly credit difficult to use.

The location is hard to beat for UVA and nearby spots. I walked to Grit for coffee and Bodo’s for breakfast with ease, and overall the value seemed okay for what I paid. With crisper hallway upkeep, a better shower head, and firmer expectations for public area conduct, this would be an easy five. As it stands, strong front desk service and a prime address make it a comfortable choice if you can tolerate a bit of train noise.

Best customer service, great location and well decorated room - with free EV charging!
Pros:

The Graduate is my go-to location when I visit Charlottesville! Conveniently located on the Corner, it’s just steps away from the Lawn, But, more than the location, I love the university-inspired decor, the great customer service AND they charge my car for me (big bonus for this Tesla owner!). It’s got a boutique hotel vibe with just the right amount of cool-kids-hang-out-here attitude.

My most recent visit, the “welcome committee” was exceptional. Bravo to Matt, the kind and charming valet, and to Sean, at the front desk!!! After a bad news day, these two gentlemen lifted my spirits and made me feel a little better about humanity. As Sean explained, “there are 86,400 seconds in a day, and it only takes a few hundred seconds to make a difference in someone’s life.” HILTON, please recognize these two extraordinary employees, as they did just that for me today.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough for anyone visiting C’ville. Wahoowa!

Fun, convenient boutique hotel
Pros:

The Graduate was a fun hotel in a convenient area of town. The rooms are attractively decorated and comfortable. My side of the bed was slightly sagging in the middle but otherwise comfortable. The hotel offers a fun game room and a rooftop bar. Parking is $22-$25 per night.
The best thing about the hotel is the personnel, all of whom were friendly and helpful. Especially great were Sean, front desk, and Matt, valet.
I would stay here again.

Pros:

The staff, especially Sean (front desk) and Matt (valet) were terrific. The room was comfortable and uniquely decorated. While small, the hotel has a fun game room, a coffee shop and a rooftop bar. The location us great for both Uva and downtown attractions.
