Clean rooms, clean lobby, clean pool area and restaurant was great!
Pros:

Clean, convenient location to Universal Studios. Trolley to the park is provided.

Do not stay here
Cons:

There is a really small selection of hotels in LA rated above 9/10. So I picked Garland and it was a mistake. It is an old hotel, it doesn't look like on photos. Parking is an extra 50$ !!! But the worst thing is the balcony door which lets cold air in. You can't use AC for heating because it is too loud! When you turn it off ... extremely cold air is in the room! I need to put pillows on AC to cover/stop air flow from outside. It is like hole in the wall. The shower is so low that I had to lower myself to wash my head - and I am only 175 cm! Do not stay here.

It was cool.
Pros:

Everything we need was close. Didn’t have to drive every where. Sometimes we walked.

Cons:

The housekeepers thought we were smoking weed in the rooms. We did smoke but not in the rooms. We smoked on the street or through the neighborhoods as we walked around enjoying the beautiful homes. The people in the neighborhoods were really nice. They spoke to us as we walked though smoking our weed which we didn’t expect! The Hotel Manager came to our room, which was embarrassing but we understood. Out of everything, I think the looks of judgement and the rudeness of the “other residents “ was more uncomfortable than anything. The hotel was a good stay, however, we won’t be staying again. It just wasnt for “us”. Also, We were there for 3 days. Only ate at the restaurant once lol.

Overall not worth the money for the inhospitable staff and overcharge at check in
Pros:

Rooms, were nice, trolley to Universal was timely and nice, pool was nice.

Cons:

The incidental hold for a room I pre paid for was $300!! I've never experienced this before! The restaurant was NOT Celiac safe and was not helpful in making alternative options for meals. Staff demeanor overall was short and not helpful.

Vacation with my son.
Pros:

Everything was great! Our welcome was warm, the bellman gave my son a toy. Offered ice and was amazing! Front desk staff also very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast at The Yard phenomenal, very Californian style. Pool at night was magical ✨

Nothing to complain about.
