The location was ideal for our requirements. The bar and dining staff were very good.
The advertised 'superior room' was compact to say the least, I queried this with reception and was told it was the correct room! The reception staff seemed to be uncoordinated on check in. The public areas had no air-conditioning and are far too hot on arrival, and even the bar only had one small fan. I have stayed in many a superior hotel for less cost, so not likely to stay again.
Not enough staff on duty at breakfast time, things had run out, very hot as no air conditioning.
Bedroom finishing poor in bathroom, no mirror beside a plug to see for using hair dryer.

The Washington is in a great location in Mayfair and is very handy for Piccadilly and the Royal parks. The facilities are fine and the breakfast acceptable, albeit a buffet. Rooms are quite small with a shower over the bath but comfortable and good value for the price in central London
The hotel has past its heyday when it was the flagship 5* hotel for Sarova Hotels. The place was a bit tired and the staff not that interested, for example nobody offers help with luggage or to show you to your room.
Chef Sanjeev Mishra is absolutely amazing.I would go back to stay in Washington just because of his food.
