I recently attempted to stay at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Portland because of its convenient location to the veterinarian we were visiting. Unfortunately, the place was so horrifying that we canceled our room immediately.
The moment we walked into the building, the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. While checking in, a woman at the counter was trying to extend her stay and was clearly under the influence of drugs. Several other people in the lobby appeared to be in a similar condition, which immediately made us uncomfortable.
When we entered our room, the situation became even worse. The room was extremely dirty. There were pieces of copper wire and a hardened unknown substance on the table. The vinyl settee and chair had visible butt and groin imprints. In the bathroom, the floor was so filthy that my shoes stuck to it as I walked.
I called the front desk to report the condition of the room, and the receptionist said someone would come clean it. Thankfully, we had not set any of our belongings down-we were genuinely concerned about what we might bring home with us.
Before leaving, I attempted to use the lobby restroom, only to find another woman inside who was clearly on drugs. At that point, we canceled our stay entirely.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A PLACE FOR FAMILIES OR ANYONE CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS. I would not walk barefoot in the room for fear of stepping on a needle. Corporate needs to take a serious look at how this property is being managed. It’s incredibly sad to see a hotel in this condition.
The staff was amazing. Rooms, lobby and hallways were clean.
Floors in the room were a little outdated.
Staff was great
The jets in spa not working
The pool
Housekeeping stole my wife's very expensive Victoria Secert night gowns and robes. Will not bw going back
Room was comfortable and clean. Bed was great, but surprised that the staff told us they had nothing but double beds.
The restaurants in the hotel were horrible.we were on a very tight schedule so used the restaurants in the ER building. Dinner in the "night club" was extremely loud, gaudy Halloween theme, pool tables and bar! We had young kids and the selection of food was burgers and pizza! The breakfast was no better in the pancake house. $142 for 5 people! For breakfast! Would use the hotel again, but find somewhere else to eat!
Staff was nice and location was good for us. We were at a basketball tournament and it was a very central location for that and for filling up time in between.
Room was ok. There was a dog toy under one of the tables. Refrigerator was dirty on the outside, ice bucket was gross, and the tray that held it had old food stuck to it. I'm not sure it had been vacuumed recently. Bathroom was old and had dried paint on the door.
The pool
Some staff are not friendly.
The bed was comfy.
The pool deck was littered with trash, and several spots were coated in dirt and grime. The pool itself was in poor condition, feeling almost like mush underfoot when stepping inside. It seemed that the bottom had cracked, allowing water to seep into the liner, resulting in bubbles and pooling. Looking down, I could see it was filled with debris and bits of trash. Although the hot tub was heated, unfortunately, the jets were not functioning.
No
To small to walk my dog
Location
The restaurants were terrible.
The breakfast restaurant on location is incredible!
The staff is rude and the hotel is dirty and unkept. Cigarette butts on the balcony, stains on night stand
It has a pool, and it has everything you need.
I was put on the “no rent” list, because I asked an employee “what they’re doing later”, and they were uncomfortable.
