I was waffling between rating a 3 vs 4, but this property is far enough from what you'd expect of a Hampton Inn I rated it a 3. Staff was pleasant and let us move to a new room upstairs after our original downstairs room had an awful smelling mildewy air conditioner. The property has tons of potential, but the renovation needs to be managed by someone with more experience.
Pros:
Property is great, decent sized pool, nice tiki bar, waterfront area with plenty of lounge chairs, and kayaks to rent.
Cons:
There is no way corporate Hilton knows what's going on with the renovation. The fit and finish is by far the worst I've ever seen at a corporate hotel. Our 2nd room seemed like the renovation was finished, but it was hard to tell. The quality of painting was horrid, the sink faucet looked new but was badly dented, the vanity light fixture was missing half the screws holding it together, and to top it off they removed the bathtub to change it to a walk-in shower yet LEFT THE UNHOOKED TUB SPIGOT IN THE NEW TILE. They literally removed the diverter handle from the main knobs leaving a hole, and tiled around the spigot. Like, what?! Also mold was starting to grow around the bottom of the shower corners that seemed like it would easily be removed with a quick cleaning. Otherwise the cleanliness was acceptable.
This is an OLD motor hotel. The location is great but it desperately needs renovations. Lots of brown. Stained carpets in hall. Just looks tired
But, the beach is nice to watch the sunset, the pool area is nice and the location is good.
Check your bill carefully and your credit card for a day or so after check out. We had a charge that was not ours from Tikki Bar. Told them about it at checkout and they removed it. Next day we got an extra charge on our credit card. This was just a stopover and we bought NOTHING while there. Odd thing is they said I signed for it. My name is not on the reservation so to know my name, someone would have had to go through my stuff. We called again, prepared to ask them to copy and email the receipt that I supposedly signed and they "said" they would take it off again and give credit. Still watching credit card. Maybe a scam that some people would not notice if they spent time at the Tikki Bar.
If we come back to the area, we will look for other accommodations.
Nada
Had a room problem or would rate a 5, Jolayne with hotel staff was awesome on making it right. Very nice for a Hampton Inn - pool, Tiki bar, beach area. Will definitely go back
Très joli petit hotel pres du centre
On a adoré la deco, l’emplacement et la gentillesse du personnel
But dated but undergoing an upgrade
Quiet and the beach is nice. Staff is very nice
It shows its age but don’t we all
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Key Largo two nights while we were traveling to and from Key West. The hotel is located along the water and has a beach and nice pool area. The hotel is run down and needs major renovations and cleaning. This hotel is overpriced for the room quality. We would not stay here again.
I had a nice time here. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the best in Key Largo while I was here, but I was still happy to explore the area. There are a lot of food trucks and restaurants close by so, as a foodie, I was happy to try out different places. The hotel is undergoing remodeling, but I wasn't disturbed my any noises or people. On the contrary, everyone was kind and helpful. The breakfast had many options and is what's expected out of a continental breakfast. Gigi and Norma were the highlight of every morning I was there! I loved joking around with them while I got my morning coffee. I like my bananas on the greener side, and they never hesitated to check the back to see if they could find me one to my liking. They went above and beyond with their customer service; if I visit again, I would stay here just to see them! There was also a very friendly grounds keeper, I can't remember his name, but he showed our whole group a lot of hospitality and even had the kiddos in our group running up and giving him hugs and fist bumps.
Our group was able to see a lot of wildlife: Iguanas (frozen and moving--look it up!), manatees, ibis, racoons, egrets. The pool was nice and warm which made our cold weather a little bit more bearable. The tiki bar was cute and the bartender (I forgot her name) was really friendly as well!
Norma and Gg were wonderful hostesses in the dining area. Juliana was very welcoming at the front desk and helpful answering questions. Very nice visit. The rooms were clean and refreshed after only two days
ERTA at the front desk was AMAZING! So sweet!!!! I can’t say enough about this sweet sweet woman! Courteous, friendly, helpful, full of information!!! A great person to deal with at the start of our stay! I would recommend this Hotel to anybody!
First off I will thank Erta for helping us with our booking. She was very pleasant and fixed us up quickly.
Great location, very nice beach facing west for sunsets, heated pool.
This place has it all...great breakfast, convenient location to restaurants, pool, sunset beach views, bar, and kind staff. Highly recommend.
Beautiful beach, nice rooms. Erta at the front desk is very helpful. Gigi keeps breakfast buffet pristine! Thank you 😊
Très bien
Rien
I guess they are going thru renovations but our room should’ve been done first. It’s hard to believe this qualifies as a Hilton property let alone one that cost more than $300 a night. I stay at 30-40 Hamptons per year and the quality of the one will rate it unquestionably at the bottom. I‘ll post some pics but let’s start w poor condition furniture, wet musty smell in a basement like room and a strange white substance on the couch that no one bothered to address. The bathroom door literally warped rotten at the bottom from years of water I guess. Sliding glass door barely locks and has a makeshift safety latch that is really the “lock”. People working seem nice enough but the condition is such that I could not see “vacationing” here and enjoying it. I barely withstood a night. It would be on the level of your average econolodge in Chattanooga for $69 per night. Aside from the above, insult to injury is that it was $316 a night lol!
Full breakfast with many choices. Room and bathroom clean. Hotel is very close to John Pennekamp State Park.
Great value for the price.
Situation, calme, structure générale
Mériterait un coup de neuf
Tolle Lage,sehr liebe Angestellte.
