There’s so much debris outside my hotel room. I understand it’s part of the outdoor environment, but there are spider webs above my hotel room door that could be cleaned up.
Clean/professional/pleasant to stay in. Would recommend
The front desk was the best
Property was very nice room smelled of cigarette smoke
Room smell
We have stayed at this property 4-5 times, each time with a mostly positive experience. Enough positive that we have returned multiple times. Staff always seem to be highly engaged and are great to work with. Marriott status is always acknowledged and that is appreciated. They recently finished upgrades to their units and they are in great shape. Very comfortable, with new everything. I have been ok with paying a little more for this property than a similar ones nearby, that may cost less, for all of those reasons listed above.
Then, this last stay happens. Welcome back! Are you parking a car with us? Ok great, please put this in your window so we know the car belongs to a guest, oh and we now charge 12 dollars a day for parking. 12 dollars A DAY at a Residence inn?
Our family is pretty loyal to a location once we find it, but not with a 12 dollar per day parking fee in Hillsborough. Seriously, just scratch my head on that one, especially when the signs around the property say "not responsible for damage or theft"- well, if we are paying to park, I'm guessing perhaps some responsibility may play into that for your property management. Perhaps even a little bone could be thrown for higher level Bonvoy status. I could not imagine staying here for a week, and having to pay 84 dollars to park for a week. We paid 36 for two nights as we had two cars for one of the two nights. Maybe even could have said, we won't charge you for the second car since its just one night. Looks like a money grab, felt like a money grab. It is a money grab. Unfortunately we won't be back, but wish you the best moving forward.
We stayed in the two bedroom unit and there was a surprising amount of space! Each of the rooms have full bathrooms and locks on the bedroom doors allowing complete privacy if needed. The kitchen had everything needed to cook. The desk area was large enough for multiple people. Hotel staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Overall, a quiet, comfortable stay.
Great little apartment set up with small kitchen. Staff had great service, but they deactivated our door keys before checkout time and it was a hassle to get the car loaded. The only reason we didn’t rate as Excellent was the world’s worst cookware in their kitchen unit. That could be improved for sure!
Clean rooms, friendly staff and some nice modern updates compared with the last time we stayed here. We had a 1 bedroom suite. Bed was comfortable along with the couch. Only issue was there was a party down in the courtyard, well past midnight and had to call down to front desk. Not sure how the hotel could have let the party go so late. (1am). LIt was obviously a planned event. The back of most of the rooms face the courtyard so most guests had to be kept up.
The staff
The smell
Nothing except good things to say about the personnel. From the front desk person to the cleaners everybody was so nice and polite. However the rest was not great. We had booked 1 king bed with sofa bed room for 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). Upon arrival, the sofa bed was not prepared. We called the front desk and the cleaning person stopped by with linens for us to take care of it it was not expected 😅 don’t get me wrong the cleaning person was really sweet and polite but we could not communicate because she only spoke Spanish and we don’t so we were taken by surprise. We tried the sofa bed and it was really not comfortable to sleep in it so we went ahead to rent another study room which the front desk was prompt to accommodate. They offered a room close by the first one which we were intislly super happy however the second room was close by the barbecue area and we could not sleep in the room before mid night because of the loud noise around. I mean I understand people having fun but you have to be respectful of other after 10pm. Each room costed us $260-280 and we could have had a better price at a near by hotel so next time I think we will just do that.
Not enough parking. Front desk was unattended when we went to check in and when we went to ask for blankets. No extra bedding for pull out sofa, dirty pull out sofa mattress. Room smelled like cigarette smoke and cleaner to try to cover it up. We bought scented candles to make the room smell better during our stay.
Have stayed at this Residence Inn many times over the last 15 years. It has changed very little. It was taken over by a different company a few years ago and they have not invested or improved. Counts on business fron companies supporting nearby Intel campus. There are other hotels, including another Residence Inn, that are newer and better.
We had fruit flies in our room. Other than that, the staff was amazing and breakfast was good.
Property was fully equipped and bed was very comfortable.
The outdoor pool was really nice my kids enjoyed swimming every afternoon.
Hotel was great. The Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were disgusting.
FURNITURE WASN'T COMFORTABLE. BREAKFAST WAS BAD.
It’s very good place n very clean!!!
The fact is that we love this hotel and visit it almost every year. However, this last time made me so upset that I can't leave it without a protest. They offer free internet and "high speed" internet per 7$ a day You have to be VERY careful not to accidently select the high speed option, Once accidently fell into their trap you are done. You will no longer be offered/required to sign in and you will be charged for the high speed internet for the rest of your stay - without even being notified! Until you make that mistake, you will constantly be required to log in and carefully decline the high speed option. I suspected that my daughter accidently selected the fee option on the first day since we no longer had to sign in, but was not sure. Also, I was sure that in the worst case we will be charged extra for that first day. When heading home and reviewing my bill, I got so upset - we were charged for high speed internet for each and every day of our stay! On top of that you will see bottle of 1L bottles in the rooms. Complementary you might think? wrong! Each bottle will cost you 5$! Looks like Marriott is setting traps for you all over, just waiting for you to accidently make a bad move so they will reach out into your pocket! Is this the way to treat a loyal guest paying over a 1,000$ for a stay? This is just dishonest. Shame on you Marriott!
PS - They use COVID as an excuse to stop doing housekeeping, but will they reduce the room charges for the reduced service? Dream on.
