We had such a great stay here!

We stayed in a room with two queen beds, which was super spacious and really comfortable. Everything felt clean and well maintained.

The included breakfast was SO good. Lots of variety, everything fresh, and just an easy, enjoyable way to start the day without having to think about it.

We also tried the teppanyaki restaurant on our first night and loved it. Such a fun experience and the food was delicious. It was a great way to kick off our stay and something I would absolutely recommend doing while you’re there.

The staff really made the experience though. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, but a special shoutout to Scarbeth at the front desk. She was incredibly helpful, gave great information, and just made everything feel easy from the moment we arrived.

Included parking was also a great perk and made things really convenient for us.

Unclean shower with pubic hair. Minor problem but my 1 star review is more about the terrible terrible IHG website which is buggy and doesn't allow me to change my email address. Wasted 20 minutes trying to talk to the useless bot customer support from 1991.

A really wonderful stay at this Crowne Plaza. It’s located in a nice and clean area of town, staff is wonderful all over the property. Has a casino on site, a decent sized gym, swimming pool (outside so would hurt to be heated on the cooler/windier days) a gift shop, parking, a club lounge (very tasty appies and finger foods) and a couple separate restaurants on site.

Eduardo and Nancy at the bar near the pool made our trip. I was traveling with co-workers for work, but they made each night after the office feel like vacation!

They taught us how to make cocktails during their Thursday cocktail class that we can make at home! In my book, this is a bar of return to, regardless of where I’m staying.

The hotel overall was AMAZING 🤩 plus the breakfast and attractions nearby were some of the best things that you could possibly have. I LOVED coming because we could see the national stadium from our room. The hotel could get much better, but it is 100$ per night. Do you rate it very well, but it is quite a lot of money. But I do recommend very highly, because of the attractions and how good the hotel is overall.

We had one night here before leaving Costa Rica and it was plenty.
It’s not what I would call a 4* hotel.
We arrived earlier than the regular checkin time but reception told us our room was empty & just needed cleaning. We left our bags at bag drop and went for a walk, coming back 1.5 hours later.
Reception told us, the room was still not ready and it’d be another 45 minutes. We sat and waited for over an hour during which time numerous people came in (mainly airline crew) and were immediately assigned rooms.
Eventually we did get our room which was very dingy with the only window looking out onto the back of the hotel with air conditioning units & no sky or sunlight.
The room itself was big with plenty of space and the bed was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom, however,although it had nice towels & toiletries was very tired and a bit grubby in places. There was limescale round the taps & on the waste plug.
Breakfast was fine although very, very noisy so we had to sit outside despite it being very windy.
To summarize - no, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s an ugly building & although it’s been refurbished to a certain extent inside it’s not 4* standard. That being said, it’s in a relatively safe area of San Jose and, after crossing a few very busy roads, you can walk in the large park nearby. There is not much else in the area however apart from a few fast food places & a supermarket. I didn’t really see any better alternatives in the area but,if you’re only there for a night, you might be better just staying at an airport hotel.

Very nice! I was traveling with Gate1 and this was start and end hotel....breakfast was fine unfortunately because my flight times, I literally was only here a few hours....enough to sleep.

The property was very clean and friendly staff. Right off the main road which was good because it was accessible but being so close to the main road was also a bit busy. Would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Short cab ride to museums. One hundred percent spot-on service. Absolutely a flagship property for the IHG brand.

When you come in to the front desk…it’s an easy experience and will only take a few minutes. Unfortunately, some people have many questions

Excellent service, the room was very comfortable and clean. The food at the “Nativo” restaurant was really good and Einer was a very friendly and attentive waiter, my congratulations and thanks.

Einer is very attentive and very professional as a server. He has a great disposition and is excellent at what he does.. He made us feel very welcome in Costa Rica!!!

My experience at Crown Plaza, San Jose IHG has been nothing short of wonderful. My service has been amazing from the cleanliness of my room, the friendliness of the staff and exceptional food.

I have to call out my server Einer for breakfast each morning of my stay. He was friendly, remembered my name and provided top level service.

I love this hotel. I go there frequently for business. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are wonderful, the food is great. My server Alejandro at the restaurant Nattivo was SO friendly and attentive.

The food is good and the service great. Rolando the waiter took good care of us. I really enjoyed to pesto gnocchis with chicken.
